## Emplacement
Nestled between the Alpilles and the Durance, at the foot of the hills and feudal towers, lies Châteaurenard, or “la cité maraîchère”. A history in capital letters, carved into the stones of its 12th and 15th century feudal castle, former stronghold of the Counts of Provence, or traced in the furrows of its market garden landscape. This history is also magnified by authentic traditional festivals, celebrating both the old-fashioned horse-drawn carts of the past and trades that have now been forgotten, in an “old-fashioned” way. There are over thirty days of festivities in the summer months alone! Halfway between Saint-Rémy and Avignon, Châteaurenard is close to major tourist attractions, but has retained all the friendliness and tranquility of a small Provencal town. That's why Châteaurenard is an ideal vacation spot in the heart of Provence.
