Dating back over 200 years, delightful Chantry Cottage is a charming period holiday home, carefully styled and furnished to provide attractive and comfortable accommodation for up to six guests. Brimming with characterful features, this beautiful cottage has been thoughtfully refurbished with great care and attention to detail, and offers bright and spacious accommodation suitable for families or a couples break.
As you step through the front door you enter a small double-height hallway which leads into the cosy sitting room with its feature fireplace and wood burning stove, a wonderful space for relaxing and enjoying time together watching the television. Step through to the large dining kitchen and you will find everything you could need for cooking and serving delicious meals, including a Rangemaster with 6-ring ceramic hob. The central island provides plenty of extra storage and preparation space, and meals can be enjoyed at the large dining table. To the rear of the kitchen there is a bonus space which is ideal for reading, playing board games, or watching DVD's, and double doors lead out to a small courtyard and bench at the side of the cottage.
On the first floor you will find the three well-appointed bedrooms, which include a king-size bedroom with en-suite shower room, and two further double bedrooms with a family bathroom and shower. Outside there is a walled front garden with picnic bench, ideal for enjoying the rural location, and glorious, uninterrupted countryside and river views.
Located in a tranquil hamlet in West Dorset, within Hodgeditch Farm, the cottage is ideally situated with the local shop less than a 5-minute drive away. There are two local pubs within easy reach, Ye Olde Poppe Inn and The Squirrel Inn, both under a 7-minute drive away. There are also plenty of footpaths and bridleways right from the doorstep. Historic Forde Abbey and Gardens are a short walk from the property, and well worth a visit, with the not to be missed daily spectacle of the highest powered fountain in the country at 160m to view, and 30 acres of award-winning gardens.
