Situated on the hillside overlooking Lake Como, this property stands amidst a prestigious residential area, overlooking the Grand Hotel Villa D'Este. Originally a convent in 1608, this historic stone house has undergone a meticulous and stylish renovation, seamlessly blending its rich heritage with modern amenities. Boasting contemporary comforts, the residence offers a harmonious fusion of history and technology. Enjoy lake views from this home, located just a 4-min. drive from Cernobbio.

The opulent Convent is segmented into two fully furnished independent apartments, each featuring a contemporary kitchen and a private outdoor terrace offering panoramic lake views. This configuration proves ideal for families or friend groups seeking to stay together while preserving individual privacy. Beneath the portico, is a Finnish wooden hot tub with hydromassage spacious enough for 8 guests. Also a spacious table accommodates up to 12 people, perfect for relaxed family or group meals amid the breathtaking backdrop of the lake.

The captivating vistas from every part of the residence are a result of its elevated position on the Cernobbio hillside. The final 30 meters of the access road present a steep and, at one juncture, narrow path. We strongly advise those arriving by car to opt for a small to medium-sized automatic vehicle for added convenience, especially if manual driving isn't your forte. Please note, no vans are recommended

Immaculate property with the most amazing and communicative hosts, spectacular views and comfort all around. This unique property has 3 apartments that are spacious an unique with a blend of antiques and modern amenities. The outdoor spaces are all over and gathering with friends for afternoon cocktails and appetizers is wonderful. Jennifer and Nico are amazing hosts and the communication is 100%, from the initial booking thru departure. We’re were 9 in our group and we embraced the entire property. There are many steps so be aware but all is well lit and safe. This is one of the best properties I have ever stayed in and highly recommend.

Incredible location and rental for group of friends. 3 separate floors that can be occupied separately, affording privacy, with common spaces for gathering for cocktails and meals. An outstanding property and excellent communication from the host. A must-stay in the Lake Como area.

This property is simply amazing. The views are breathtaking. Each level is its own apartment so everyone had their privacy. Nico and Jennifer were very responsive and helpful during our stay. If you are bringing your own car, the smaller the better for the narrow Italian roads.Highly recommend!

Jennifer and Nico communicated exactly where and when to meet them and the check in was a breeze! The home is located on a steep, somewhat narrow road so we did have a bit of difficulty driving up and down with our passenger van! The views were amazing of the lake and the accommodations perfect for our family of seven. The home had three separate apartments so we all had our own space. We loved the cooking class with Robi that Jennifer helped arranged and a wonderful boat ride with Alessandro. Taxis were hard to find and walking to and from the town of Cernobbio was difficult but doable. Jennifer did provide us with a few names of taxi drivers and Vincenzo and Paola were readily available to pick us all up with a few hours notice. We loved our stay!

Special part of the world

Its a striking property for its location on the hill, and view of south area of panoramic lake como. Jennifer was very communicative and helpful throughout.The place itself was ripe with character, such an interesting aesthetic.We really all enjoyed pur stay. Thank you Jennifer for making it so smooth!The only issue was that the hot tub requires substantial power to heat, and the electric panel could not support it while using induction stoves on the bottom level (which is shared with lower residence).The drive is narrow, but we got used to that part...

We had the most amazing stay at this property. Jennifer and Nico were extremely helpful throughout the process. Connected us with a driver, a boat company, helped with anything and everything we needed and made our stay just perfect. We cant wait till we can come back.

An unreal luxury experience

We booked this villa because we needed several bedrooms for multiple families for a Lake Como wedding. This seemed like a perfect place to relax and take in the breathtaking views of Lake Como, but when we checked in we were absolutely blown away by the location, the friendliness of our host, and the luxury details. Our host met us at the Villa and walked us through each perfectly laid-out "apartment" which were basically their own homes that were a part of this incredible former convent, converted by a genius architect. This brilliant designer brought old-world charm into the modern era with huge windows and sliding doors - each with their own balcony - that showcased the uniquely beautiful location wonderfully. I also can't say enough good things about our host. Not only did they help us navigate the winding roads of Como, but organized all our travel up and down the mountain to ensure we made it to our wedding and other events in style with beautiful Mercedes Vans and taxis that could pick us up from lunches and shopping. The only caution I would give guests staying in their area is to plan rides in advance of activities or to get a car. Taxis are few and far between, so being prepared in the villa with food and snacks (and wine) is a must before you relax and enjoy one of the best vacations of your life.

Gorgeous views and accommodations

We were a party of 8 staying in Cernobbio for our son's wedding at Villa Erba. The layout of the property - 3 separate 2 bedroom apartments - provided the right amount of privacy and communal space. We had shared meals in the main apartment with spectacular views of the lake. The drive to the property is fairly treacherous and not for the faint of heart. The large car we rented to get our group from the airport was not suited to the roads. Jennifer and Nico were so helpful arranging rides, that it wasn't necessary to use the car once we were settled in. They also provided restaurant recommendations and arranged for a private boat tour of the lake. It was an unforgettable stay!

Gorgeous views - beautiful property

We had a wonderful time - we had a group of 8 with parents and 20 something kids - so the three separate living spaces all connected worked really well for us. Only surprise was the hill to get up to the location with little taxi/uber etc service - so we got our steps in ! Also the hosts were extremely helpful with arranging cars etc to get around. The house is really beautiful and well equipped and the views were gorgeous!

3, 2 bedroom apartments all in one picture-perfect location! The home has the authentic, local charm you want when staying in Italy but with modern amenities. It was ideal for our trip with 6 friends - 2 per unit. Enough space to spread out and have privacy but breathtaking communal, outdoor patio areas to share an aperitif! Air conditioning in rooms made it even more enjoyable. The property managers are also incredible to work with and knowledgeable about the area. Hoping to come again soon!

Amazing Views

The Convent was perfect for our group of 3 couples, which meant each had a very comfortable, clean, spacious living area to themselves. We gathered on the terrace of the lower apartment for amazing views of the lake. The kitchen was very well equipped, enabling us to cook meals on several evenings. How wonderful to have A/C throughout - it was essential in the heatwave. The property manager Jennifer was incredibly responsive and very helpful making arrangements for us. We enjoyed walking down to the ferry (20 mins - longer on the way up!). The Convent exceeded expectations - highly recommended.

Blown away by the beauty of this house and the view

We have never stayed in a VRBO that SO exceeded our expectations. Despite the curvy hair pin narrow roads to the house, this 1608 A.D. 3-story house (a former convent) has the most exquisit, architect-owned and designed garden and furnishings. Every part of this property is gorgeous. Our daughter, an interior designer, was brought to tears by the beauty, attention, and careful design of every detail. We were greeted by Jennifer and Nico who met us on the road to the house. Jennifer gave us excellent instructions and shared all the perks and surprises with the house, while Nico chauffeured to the parking pad. The house with it's breath-taking views is more beautiful in person. HIGHLY recommend!!!
