Alessio was a great host, he waited for us to make sure we got inside and found the property. Room was super clean, soap was provided, coffee, fresh towels and clean sheets.
The only reason this is not 5 star is the city itself was not safe at night. Seems very dangerous and unsettling for me and my girlfriend. Many of the alleyways are full of what seemed gangsters and service workers.
We booked on hotels.com and couldn't check in easily on arrival because the operator said he couldn't contact us. No effort was made. We've had other hotels in Italy contact us via whatsapp, or on our hotels.com inbox with check in instructions. We were left sitting outside in the gutter for a short period. The property wasn't in a great state. Clean enough, but door handles fell off, and the lock to our room was very shaky - we didn't feel safe leaving valuables. The exhaust fan in the bathroom was blocked beyond any use.
Functional, but I'd not stay there again.
