Connie was exceptional, sending very detailed information that allowed us to arrive to the beautiful property easily despite the lack of cell phone service in many parts of that charming, rural region (once in the house we had good internet service). The house itself was perfect for our group of six, four adults and two children, with very comfortable, very clean spaces; a great view of the lovely grounds; and the peace and quiet we were looking for.
Exactly what we were looking for, a secluded and private getaway with amazing views and amenities. Large home with private bathrooms in each bedroom was perfect
The location of this property was perfect for our visit. Could travel in any direction and visit very nice wineries within minutes. The home was very clean, secluded, and had all of the necessary ammedeties. The walking trail was a great way to start each day.
Beautiful setting in the countryside. Rooms were spacious and we loved early mornings in the hot tub. Everyone had a go at ping pong and there was plenty of room for playing games. Two fridges in the kitchen were a plus!
Stayed at the house with three friends for a hiking trip to Shenandoah National Park. The house was really nice with four spacious bedrooms on the main floor - all with ensuite bathrooms. The kitchen was large and it was easy to cook dinner. Very pretty grounds and a relatively short drive to the park. We planned ahead and stocked up using both of the refrigerators in the kitchen. Would definitely stay there again if in the area.
We loved our stay at Twin Ponds. Our young children spent hours fishing and running around outside. We didn't have to argue with them about screentime because they were too busy to think about tablets. Everything was clean and maintained from the home, the estate, and the trails. We particularly enjoyed the menagerie as well. Great getaway for a family.
Everything was beautiful. We did not have WiFi or network service the first day which was a bit scary. But eventually Saturday late afternoon the property managers installed the service so we finally were able to contact our love ones back home
The property and home were wonderful. Big house with a well stocked kitchen. We loved hanging outside in the grass backyard. We will definitely come again. VRBO is deceptive and I will not rent through them again. They didn’t include the cleaning fee in their listing and confirmation so it seemed like it was cheaper on their site. But surprise, the rental adds it on and sends a second higher invoice. Bad business.
Twin Ponds is even better than listed. Very spacious with everything you need in the kitchen. Private tennis courts and walking path are super fun. Would stay again!
Our family had a great time celebrating our parents. Plenty of room for everyone, great views and location in VA wine country. The house is mostly on one level with some steps to the living room and outdoor areas.
Incredibly beautiful property. Very peaceful and comfortable stay. Highly recommend. If you plan to cook, plan to pack seasonings like salt and pepper.
We had a great time during our stay in July 2020 taking advantage of the peace and tranquility, walking paths, tennis courts and seeing the animals. Thanks for a wonderful time!
Beautiful Expansive grounds
Spacious home with nice kitchen
Bedrooms beautiful but living area very plain
No telephone in home and cellular iffy. Fortunately WiFi good so we could use WhatsApp for calling.
If you like quiet, this is for you.
Property is really great if you're looking for something a bit out of the way. Culpepper is still only around 30 minutes away, and has several great options for food or entertainment.
We preferred to walk the trail on the property and simply enjoy each others company, and the property was excellent for that. Would certainly reccomend.
We had a wonderful time at the Twin Ponds House. We spent the day in Shenandoah and then the evenings in the hot tub and around the fire. The kitchen was wonderfully large for our big group, just wish it had a few more basic kitchen items like foil/plastic wrap etc. The living and dining areas were also great though we spent most time outside. Beds were comfortable, but it does get chilly at night!
We had a very nice and relaxing time. We stayed at the Twin Pond home. Very private. We enjoyed the spa and paved trail around the property. Connie & Paul were very kind and always around if you need something. Connie showed us around when we arrived and about the history of the property. The kitchen had everything you need. We just had a wonderful time. Hope to be back soon!
We had a fantastic stay at Castleton at the Twin Ponds house. The house layout and space was great, very roomy and loved that each bedroom has it's own bath. Hot tub worked great and so easy to access. Outdoor fire pit and gas lit fire table were perfect for enjoying the evenings. Between the pool and farm animals and s'mores by the fire there was plenty to entertain the kids. And Connie made everything so easy and accommodating. I really hope we can make it back!
