Casino Baden-Baden Tours

Casino Baden-Baden showing interior views and a luxury hotel or resort
Try your luck at a variety of classic games in the chandelier-lit halls of one of Germany’s oldest casinos.

You don’t have to gamble to appreciate the beauty and opulence of Casino Baden-Baden. The legendary venue, once described by the actress Marlene Dietrich as “the most beautiful casino in the world,” feels like a palace inside. Extravagant paintings and sculptures decorate the walls and ceilings of its main rooms. Put on your smartest clothes and spend an evening playing well-loved games in this spectacular setting.

The casino is housed in a building called the Kurhaus, which originally served as a rural ballroom. When it became a casino, about 150 years ago, it was established as a summer retreat for the nobles and elites of Germany who would also visit the nearby spas. Head here today, however, and find its doors open to every kind of visitor.

Learn more about the history of the building on a guided tour of the Kurhaus. Explore the interior, designed in the style of Parisian palaces, and admire the lavishness of the décor. The tour passes through the Florentine Hall, previously known as the “Hall of a Thousand Candles” for the elegant chandeliers that light the room. People of any age are welcome on the tours, which are run daily outside of gambling hours.

Visitors aged 21 and over can enjoy a wide range of classic casino games.Slot machines in a separate room offer a more informal gaming experience.

The Kurhaus is also used as a function, party and concert venue. Listen to orchestral music and contemporary rock performances in the atmospheric location. Head to the casino on New Year’s Eve to celebrate in style with locals and other guests.

The casino is easy to find as it is both centrally located and one of the most well-known landmarks in the town. Parking is available on-site. The casino is open daily, with the exception of several national holidays, and stays open late. Formal dress is required when gaming at Casino Baden-Baden. Jackets and ties are available to rent at the casino.
