"Very unsafe area for tourist! Do not come to this hotel unless you're prepared to get ripped off by every individual at the hotel and all along the beach. The couches were coverd in mold, the lights only worked between 6pm and 6am. The water was not working and no AC in the room. I stayed one night and left as soon as I could, I requested a refund but was met by rude responses from the staff even after listing all of the issues. "I stayed at the InterContinental Cartagena from May 15–19, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. The hotel itself is beautiful, and the pool area is magnificent with stunning views overlooking the ocean. It quickly became one of our favorite places to relax during our stay. The rooms were comfortable, the property was well maintained, and the location was excellent. What truly made this stay exceptional was the staff. Every employee we encountered was friendly, professional, informative, and genuinely helpful. The level of service exceeded our expectations. I would especially like to recognize the concierge team. We were having difficulty getting information and arranging transportation to our next hotel in the Rosario Islands. The concierge went above and beyond to assist us by finding the correct contact information, explaining the transportation process, and helping us make the necessary arrangements. Her assistance relieved a great deal of stress and allowed us to fully enjoy our vacation. We are incredibly grateful. We were also celebrating my birthday during our stay, and the hotel made it truly special. Prior to arrival, they accommodated my request for a higher-floor ocean-view room, and upon arrival they upgraded us to an even better room location.
