"A group of 10 ageing from 20 - 74. We all loved the house, lots of space and homely. The projector room was fantastic for movie nights and the games room went down a treat. The house was warm, plenty of hot water, the welvoming pack was an added bonus. We had no problems and would definately recommend as a big group. More kitchen utensils would have been better as the pans werent big enough and also we couldnt all sit in the lounges together as not enough settees.- we managed. Its a fabulous...

"The restaurant was good ,decor was lovely Staff very friendly Breakfast fantastic ,one of the best I have had Room very basic ,but clean .Maybe not all rooms are the same ,we were room 3. Nice touch with tea coffee and biscuits in room Bathroom very good size Bed was uncomfortable Main issue was no sleep from noise from M6 Needs better double glazing Lovely area to walk along canal after breakfast Real downside ,no sleep"

"No parking on site but did manage to find on road space not to far away. Some parking on road is time limited. Reception experience differed depending on who was on duty. Breakfast was of a good standard. Linen in room was good quality and bed was comfortable. Building looking tired in places. Close to station. Nice canal walks near by with pubs just off the toe path."

"There seems to be no mobile phone coverage at the County Lodge Carnforth. When I arrived at 8.30pm 25/5 the door was locked shut, the place was in darkness and a note attached to the door said to phone a mobile number to gain code keys and access BUT their number failed to ring. Tried multiple times, including 100m away in 3 directions. A landline number was given on the accommodation door, this also failed to ring. The property has not been maintained or looked after, it seemed as though the place had been deserted for months. Car park overgrown and not maintained. I had to find alternative accommodation for the night. The following daytime the front door was still shut and locked in office hours, but I managed to get thro on their mobile number by bringing from a quite different location in town. So I was able to stay the 26/5 night . Before I left the next day I tried phoning again, but evidently no coverage. I want a refund for the 25/5 night."

"This property receives variable reviews across various platforms, great reviews and poor reviews alike seem a little unrealistic and the bad ones often ill founded. It is a old and tired property that reuqires a lot of work, the room was small but comfortable. There was a pervading smell of damp (not cooking oil as noted on other platforms) just like home!! wall paper and bathroom had clearly suffered in past. Good breakfast, clean room, friendly accommodating host. When you make a booking at a property which is 25-50% cheaper than any other in the immediate area and includes breakfast what are you expecting? We went in on a budget with low expectations but it was not as bad a we had thought it might be and we had a separate private bathroom having anticipated sharing. Is it the Ritz? No. Would we stay again, undoubtedly, yes."
