A beautiful barn conversion on a small working farm in the most delightful rural location perfectly located for exploring Cumbria and over the border to Scotland.. Ground Floor:

Mount Farm – The Stable is a delightful, renovated cottage on a small working farm beautifully situated in the village of Blackford on the outskirts of the city of Carlisle.

Mount Farm – The Stable offers the perfect relaxing break for a family to enjoy or indeed a group of friends to meet up. The bright and spacious open plan living/dining/kitchen certainly is the hub of this delightful property where you can sit and relax enjoying a meal or when the weather is fine fling open the patio doors and relax in the private garden. The elegant bedrooms each have their own private en-suite shower rooms. Of course, a bonus at Mount Farm – The Stable is the wonderful hot tub, a delight at any time of day but even more so in the evenings when you can sit back and relax and marvel at the dark starry skies!

Mount Farm – The Stable, whilst situated in a beautiful rural setting is only minutes’ drive from the Cumbria’s capital city, Carlisle, where you can visit a range of attractions including the Museum of Military Life, Tullie House and the cathedral. A short drive will take you to the ruins of the famous Hadrian’s Wall, or why not take a drive over the border to the beautiful beaches of Dumfries and Galloway and the world-famous village of Gretna Green? Weddings have taken place in Gretna Green for over 250 years and Mount Farm – The Stables is only a stone’s throw away – the perfect end to a perfect day!

While enjoying the luxury of Mount Farm – The Stable no stay would be complete without a visit to the stunning Lake District National Park, now a World Heritage Site, with its mountains and lakes and thriving communities like Keswick and Windermere. Excellent hosts.

Lovely modern property, homely feeling. Everything you would need is supplied. Welcome pack. I enjoyed the hot tub, and the lovely quiet surroundings. Marj and family were very welcoming, I would definitely stay there again.
