Wonderful guest house

They are so sweet and caring at the guest house, it feels like you are visiting someone’s home. They offer a nice breakfast and the area is safe and the guest house is gated. I can really recommend this place for anyone visiting Cape Town and wants to stay close to the city.

Just returned from my second stay at Roodenburg House, and it was just as excellent as 18 months ago. The property is beautiful and immaculately maintained, rooms are lovely with plenty of space, and the hosts are wonderful. The breakfasts are also worthy of a mention. I plan to stay here again next time I'm visiting family.

Comfortable and well located.

Roodenburg House 1882 is very comfortable and well located. Staff are friendly and there is ample parking. Breakfast was excellent. There were two problems. There is a very nice pool area with an honesty bar. The bar had no stock of any kind. When we asked why, we were told that it had all been drunk on Christmas day after a big function. Cleary by December the 27th, when we arrived, no one had thought to restock the bar. Also, we had no shower gel - just an empty container. So, although i would stay there again, I would hope that there is better management and attention to detail.

Had a wonderful stay

The property is immaculate with lovely communal areas. The rooms are large, bright and airy, and service is excellent. Breakfasts are hearty enough to keep you going all day! The hosts were so friendly and happy to help with anything I needed, but were never intrusive.
