Pleasant little guesthouse with friendly staff. High standard of rooms and good breakfast. Located high on a hill, so quite an exercise to get up after a visit to the seaside, but no problem for reasonably trained people.

Quiet and beautiful location in Simons Town.

We enjoyed 2 good nights and days at Mariner Guesthouse in Simons Town. Thanks a lot Mendy for assisting us changing to another room with a King Size bed instead and still with a beautiful view over Simons Bay.

This was my third stay at the Mariner's Guesthouse, and I would not stay anywhere else. The accommodations are top shelf, the staff is more than helpful and quite gregarious. They attend to every need with exceptional service and kindness. Not one complaint! By the way, Mandy who oversees the property, would be a blessing to any hospitality property! Wonderful person.

Wonderful staff and great views at this charming little place. Excellent breakfast, and well positioned for those who enjoy a good walk to get either to town (with dining/shopping options) or the Boulders penguin colony. If you're driving, there is a rather steep ascent to get to the parking area, and if you have mobility issues, be aware that there are lots of stairs within the property. All in all, very welcoming, though! Hospitality was top notch and our little one adored the staff.

We enjoyed our time here and liked the property and the staff at the guesthouse, Mandy especially looked after us very well, the guesthouse is walking distance to boulders beach and Simons town centre, which suited us as we didn’t have a car. A local car company booked for us, over-charged us for our onward journey, this was very annoying … be careful !

This beautifuly presented Guesthouse is perfectly situated by the mountains overlooking the beautiful SimonsTown harbour and False Bay. With free parking I was greeted at the property by the lovely manager and staff memebers who are so friendly, never stopped smiling and couldn't do enough for me. I was lucky enough to stay in Room 2, stunning presented with a 4 poster bed and balcony. The views are incredible, especially for sunrise! The all inclusive breakfast caters for all and is served in the dining and lounge area again with stunning views over the town. During my stay upon recommendation from the Manager, i visited Boulders beach to see the penguins, some museums and the lighthouse cafe for lucnh to name a few. For me this was the perfect setting for my short stay in SimonsTown and will be the first place I look to book upon returning to this wonderful part of South Africa. Thank you so much for looking after me for my visit. Its somewhere i look back very fondly on for my holiday in South Africa 2025. The best wishes for the future. Ian from the UK ❤️

The Mariner’s room had an incredible view over Simon’s Town harbor, was extra comfortable and clean. The breakfast was very good and the location is away from traffic while 2 minutes drive to the waterfront and restaurants. Just mind the stairs to access the rooms, not for everyone.

Superb Value with bonusses!

Very comfortable with attentive service and brilliant view over the harbour and bay. Nice bonus to have a balcony with a view as well. Parking was conveniently on-site and even though on the street, it never felt unsafe. Breakfast was great - never oily and very tasteful, the home-baked muffins superb. Both the manageress and the hard-working chef/waiter/duty manager/cleaner are worth a mention. He seems to be an extraordinary asset to the establishment and I'm embarrassed that I now cannot remember his name. A clean and superb property.

Great service, facilities & views. Loved my stay!

I loved my stay! Wish it was longer. Friendly and helpful staff. Spacious and comfortable room. Good quality bed - loved the decor (light and fresh, not too cluttered). My room had an air-conditioner, but it wasn't hot, so I didn't end up using it. Beautiful view of the harbour and close to Boulders beach and penguins.

Uns hat die große Gastfreundlichkeit gefallen, das behagliche Ambiente, der ausgesprochen gute und freundliche Service, der schöne Ausblick auf die False Bay, die Nähe zum "Bolders Beach" (Pinguine) und zum Cape Point (und Kap der guten Hoffnung) Man sollte allerdings wissen, dass durch die Hanglage Treppenstufen innerhalb und außerhalb des Hauses ohne Aufzug zu bewältigen sind.

Stunning. Modern and fresh, plenty of sunlight. Fantastic reception, prompt, kind. Room is lovely, over looking the sea. Lay in bed and watch the sunset over the harbor. I can see whales from bed! Impressed with all the bathroom toiletries available. In the common room we shared a bottle of wine that was available in the honesty bar on a lovely patio. There is a telescope to see the creatures closer. Everything is perfect. Clean sheets. Snacks in room

I thought the property was very beautiful and the staff was incredibly helpful. My only thing is was my room. There were a bunch of ants crawling on the floor near my bed. It made me feel that cleaning didn’t do a good enough job. When I told the staff they were eager to clean it up.

The property is on a very steep hill, with treacherous steps, which was unexpected. Quite a walk to local places, but UBER works well, even over New Year. Laid back and quiet place, with a beautiful Garden Apartment, where we stayed for three nights. Friendly and helpful staff. Honesty bar. We did not eat here so cannot review food, but an evening meal requires 24-hours notice, and the property only takes RAND CASH.
