This beautiful home is secluded and peaceful with a beautiful view of Canyon Lake. Great Tree Room, huge stone fireplace great for family or group gatherings. Large kitchen and Dining room for14
plus side bar. Jacobs Creek Beach 5 blocks, fishing 1 block, boating, jet-ski rentals, 3 miles, sailing, Guadalupe River tubing 3 miles, New Braunfels, 12 miles, San Antonio, 33 miles. Whitewater Amphitheater is 2 miles Schlitterbahn Water Park 14 miles. Several marked hiking trails surrounding Canyon Lake avaiable.

Blue Water Lake, Shaded Yard: Canyon Lake is one of Texas's finest lakes. Boating and Sailing conditions are excellent. Fishing and watersports abound. Lookingglass Place has a panoramic view of the lake that stretches for over 12 miles. Upstairs decks have a Hot Tub, which provides spectacular vistas as well as romantic stargazing. Waterskiing boats are available for rent nearby. Lookingglass's backyard has large seating areas, horeshoe pit, campfire pit, goldfish pond, hammock, tree swing, and 2 charcoal Bar B Que grills. Plenty of outdoor chairs and tables.

Fantastic River Tubing, Country Music: Located less than 3 miles from the fabulous Guadalupe River, for exciting canoeing, rafting, or tubing. Schlitterbahn Water Park (rated # 1 in the world) is only a 16 mile drive. Rio Raft Company is open 364 days each year for tube or raft rental. Nearby is the famous Whitewater Amphitheater and it's ony 14 miles to the legendary Gruene Hall.

Antique and Shoppers Paradise: Wimberly, Texas is an art lovers meca, only an 18 mile drive from Looking glass Place. Fredricksburg, also an art and antique center is exactly a 50 miles drive. San Marcos Tanger and Prime Outlet Malls are 19 miles door to door from Lookingglass Place. SAN ANTONIO is 40 miles to the south, with Fiesta Texas, Sea World, The Alamo, and the one-of-a-kind River Walk. House was as pictured. Plenty of room for everyone, ac worked great even in 100 degree weather, fire pit is nice, hot tub was clean. Kitchen was well stocked. Location was nice, close to where we like to float the river at. The daily deer visits were a big hit with the kids. We will be back!

Great time even with Rain

We had a great time at Looking Glass place even with the rain hampering the weekend lake vibes. We had plenty of space in the house to spread out and enjoy our time and entertain ourselves.

Excellent place to stay

The host was very attentive and the house was clean. Had enough space for my entire family. You can see the lake from the balcony with the hot tub. It’s close to other amenities. Would definitely recommend this place to anybody else.

Great for a girls getaway

The house was a great choice for our group of 8- plenty of space to relax, plenty of bedrooms. We loved having space to hang out with the beautiful bar area and large kitchen table.

We so thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Looking Glass!! Proximity to the Guadalupe and area restaurants was perfect! The grounds were beautiful. The house is beautiful… We just couldn’t get over how lucky we were to find it!

The house was nicer than the pictures!big open floor plan,beautiful deck with a view.We had a big group of family staying here and we had plenty of space for everyone and the house was well equipped with everything we needed.Would definitely stay here again next time we’re back in the area.

5 year Soberversary!

We had the best time at this house. Comfortable beds. Great views. Fantastic backyard. Terry, the host, so friendly and lovely! Made me miss my grandpa talking to him when he called. Definitely recommend this house! We rented a van and traveled as a group to Gruene and New Braunfels one night and it was only about a 25 min ride. This house is perfect for a small group of friends or family wanting a relaxing vacation!

The looking glass house

We had a wonderful stay here at this large spacious home. My son got married at the preserve and this was the perfect location to stay in. My husband and I had two of our adult children and their spouses staying with us as well and this house made it very comfortable for all!

Birthday Weekend

My family really enjoyed their weekend stay. We loved the upstairs deck for sunsets and had fun playing lawn games and hanging outside. The living room is so cozy and has tons of seating. The decor is truly unique. We could tell the house is well loved and holds many fun memories. We would love to stay again.

Enjoyable Staycation

Enjoyed our stay with family and friends. Terry was very responsive and down to earth. Check in was a breeze, and there was not too much cleaning that was asked of us at the end of our stay. Which, personally, I appreciate. As a heads up, the stairs are rather steep!

Absolutely Amazing

This place is everything that everything the Hill Country is! From the gorgeous house to the view of Canyon Lake, and the deer hanging out back my family and I loved it. The house is so incredibly spacious and had everything we needed along the way. The owners were incredibly helpful and kind. We cannot wait to go back. P.S. I now need a tree in my living room :)

Eclipse trip

We came for the total solar eclipse of 2024 - too many clouds to actually see it but the trip was still wonderful. Terry is the nicest, most accommodating host. The house is amazing and we spent most of our time there. The only lacking star was the entrance at the driveway was a little rough for the super-low sports car that we rented - otherwise a perfect rental.

Spacious Rental for Large Group

My family, 4 adults and 3 children (children's ages 9, 5, and 2) enjoyed our stay at the Looking Glass home. Terry, our host was very kind and accommodating before and during our stay. The home's arrangement was perfect because my daughter and her family had the upstairs and my husband and I took the downstairs bedroom. That gave everyone plenty of room and privacy. We were glad to see the TV was set up with YouTube TV so we could watch football and the baseball playoffs! Some simple things could be addressed (ie.new cushions on outdoor furniture) to update this rental, but it didn't impact our wonderful time at this rental.

Great stay for a large group/family

The house was so big, beautiful, and spacious. Plenty of towels and kitchen utensils and appliances. We really enjoyed the upstairs deck and hot tub. But we made use of the entire house. (Great bar). The location was good for floating the river, schlitterbahn, and natural bridge caverns. (All within 30 minutes or less). The info book was full of good info. We are out once at GrannyD’s and it was really good. Rest of the time we cooked at the house. 10/10 would recommend! Terry was quick to respond to any questions I had. I would definitely stay there again. Everyone loved it !

Fantastic getaway for groups!

We booked a long weekend to celebrate my husband and his 3 best friends turning 40. Each guy brought his family. In total we had 8 adults, 5 kids and 1 service dog. There were plenty of towels and dishes for everyone and most importantly there was enough seating in the living room for everyone to hang out (a lot of houses we looked at had 2 regular couches and no other seating) and in the dining room for us to play cards against humanity. Check in was easy and convenient, communicating with terry was incredibly easy and he was so helpful!! Check out was easy as pie as well. The outdoor area and the hot tub were amazing, the house is very close to the lake and a grocery store, we will absolutely be back!! I can't say enough great things about the whole experience, everything went perfectly thanks to Terry.

Great home close to The Preserve Wedding Venue

This home worked out perfectly for our family members who had traveled to Texas for a wedding at The Preserve. We had 8 who stayed and a few others who gathered for our Rehearsal Dinner. It’s a fun space with the tree room, lots of eclectic decor, well equipped kitchen, koi pond, hot tub, and other amenities. Unfortunately we didn’t spend much time outdoors or use the hot tub because the weather was too hot. However early mornings were nice to sit outside and watch the deer come through the yard. Terry, the owner is friendly and easy to communicate with. We enjoyed seeing a light show one evening with amazing lightning and thunder that we’re not used to seeing at our home. It’s a perfect home for a big group to gather. Fortunately there is a nice bedroom on the first level, because the stairs to the upper level are quite steep. Great place!

Great house and location!

We had the best time at Lookingglass! The home was within 2 minutes of the Guadalupe. We had plenty of room, deer came to visit every day and the hosts were great! We would go back again in a second!
