Good room, good bar and wide choice and excellently cooked breakfast and dinner. Plenty of parking and outside tables for when the weather permits. Good view, and excellent location for visiting Canterbury and the Kent countryside. Also very convenient for golfers wishing to play at Canterbury Golf Course, lovely course, just up the road from The Evenhill.

We had a great stay at The Evenhill. All the staff were very friendly. Our room was clean, warm and spacious. The shower was great and the towels were nice and large. We didn’t get full WiFi signal in the room, but it wasn’t a problem. We had dinner in the pub and everyone’s meal was excellent. Breakfast the next morning was excellent as well; with plenty to fill us up!

Disliked: Amenities
Hmm, I really wanted to like this hotel but it definitely fell into the "meh" category. Lets start with the good things: It's clean and the staff are mostly lovely. Now the not so good. We arrived around 8pm and were told that the kitchen was closing but that we could have something simple. No problem, I would have settled for a pork pie and pint but scampi & chips was offered and we gratefully accepted. Problem was, it took an hour and a half to arrive. Also ALL the hand pumps were off so I had to settle for bottled ale. The problem is that there's nothing else for miles so you're effectively trapped there. The following morning at breakfast, there were loads of staff. All were chatty, friendly and helpful. The offerings we're adequate and I was excited to be offered a breakfast cooked to order... Whilst it was nice enough, AN egg, A rasher of bacon and A sausage didn't fill me for the day ahead. Still, there was plenty of toast and marmalade so that made up the shortfall. Luckily one of the servers mentioned that the kitchen was closed on Sunday (that) night, otherwise we would have gone hungry. Our last morning (Mon) and there was only one person waiting tables, setting out the supplies and indeed cooking the breakfasts so it was a slow and rather bad tempered affair. The filter coffee machine never did get switched on 🙄 So, nothing terrible but I personally wouldn't rush back.

You won’t regret staying here!

Absolutely loved this hotel. The beds were very comfortable (soft and firm at the same time). The shower was warm enough. The grounds are beautiful and we took a walk around the area. The bar/restaurant was very enjoyable. The staff is top notch sweet and made sure we were comfortable!

Lovely place. Good location. We were there for a wake following a cremation, and then an overnight stay. The staff were lovely and the food prepared for the wake and breakfast was very good. At a difficult time it was something at least we did not have to worry about.
