"Beautiful and serene property! Wished we could have stayed here longer. It overlooks the ocean and is set in a very peaceful former farm. We booked the one bedroom villa which used to be the owners’ private residence. So the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom have tons of storage since it was built to be lived in. It’s a small property so the wait staff do it all - work in the lovely bar, in the restaurant. They are super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included and was sufficient though a bit limited in the menu items other than eggs, you could get Greek yogurt with fruit. They would provide a delicious basket of fresh croissants and rolls and a small plates of cheese and fruit. There was also fresh OJ and mimosas. More than enough for me for breakfast but maybe not for my 20-something son as he doesn’t like eggs. But again, we don’t generally need a big breakfast. Our son’s room (not in the villa but on the second floor - via stairs) was very spacious with a beautiful view, and also had a spacious bathroom. The decor is modern, clean and tasteful. There is an outdoor but not heated pool so it was not used much (we went in early April). I did try the small indoor heated pool and it was lovely but they only have 4 loungers. There’s also a sauna and steam room you can use. Enough parking for the guests though it was busy at times (with some non hotel guests dining at their restaurant or bar). Really loved this property and would go back"

"Modern, newer, central hotel in a pedestrian only street. So be aware you will have to walk a short distance with your luggage. We parked in a small public lot a 5 minute walk up a hill (parking is free on weekends). Beds are comfortable. I booked a standard room which is not that big but fine for a short stay. Stayed one night at the beginning of our trip to Sao Miguel and then 2 nights at the end. Had a terrace the first time and no terrace the second time. Preferred having the terrace room but we didn’t have a chance to use it the first stay. Second time we stayed, the bathroom had less counter space (not enough for two people’s toiletries) and the AC was not working. We asked them to take a look and they said they fixed but I don’t think it was really working - or well. Not a huge problem as it was cooler at night so we opened the window (no screens) all night to allow cool air inside. But I would have preferred to keep it closed (for noise - I’m a light sleeper). breakfast was good with a sufficient selection of cheeses and meats, pastries, breads and juices. You could also choose from a small à la carte menu - eggs, eggs Benedict (delicious), pancakes (no maple syrup). You may have been able to order more than one item, but the eggs Benedict (one egg) was enough for me along with the buffet items. We also used the indoor pool which looks really cool and has some interesting features (buttons with jets in the corners) but for an indoor pool it should be warmer. "

"This 4 star property is very clean. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The kitchen has all you need to cook a delicious Portuguese meal. It’s close to everything including shopping and restaurants. I will definitely go back. The breakfast was excellent."
