Our room was good, although the shower door could be better, we couldn't close it properly. Other than that it was perfectly fine for us. We didn’t use the bar.

Nice clean room, the shower room was a bit tired but fully functional and lots of hot water also the supplied towels were really fluffy. Bed was super comfy and huge. We had a quiet night with no disturbances. Only downside, no glasses for water for overnight/taking tablets but I wouldn't want to be too picky.

I have absolutely no issue with old—in fact, I often prefer older places with character. What I do have an issue with is not clean, and unfortunately, this stay really missed the mark. The room smelled very musty, and the bathroom was full of mildew in the shower and all over the ceiling. There was hair in the shower, and it was in such poor condition that we couldn’t bring ourselves to use it. That immediately made us wonder whether the rest of the room had been properly cleaned, so we checked the bed. Sure enough, there was hair all over the sheets, which clearly hadn’t been changed since the last guest. We reported this to the front desk, and to their credit, the attendant came right away, changed the bedding, and agreed that the room should never have been in that condition. On top of that, there was a bright emergency light above the door that lit up the entire room all night long. It felt like trying to sleep in a hallway… There is no food available. If this property is short-staffed, I truly understand, but it would be better to rent out fewer rooms and ensure they’re properly cleaned, including the carpets. Every issue I’ve mentioned is fixable, and I genuinely hope management takes this feedback seriously and becomes more conscientious going forward. At the moment, though, I just can’t bring myself to recommend this place and am unsure how it has an 8.2 rating…

Great value room simple clean accommodation with a large bed just as advertised. No food available but we took a 10 minute walk to the Indian restaurant which was great. We don’t eat breakfast so it really suited us, plus there is free parking which is a great bonus. Would stay again. Thanks

Lack of information

The room was ok. Mould and a slug in the bathroom. I was not aware until the day I stayed that there was no breakfast available and I arrived to find the pub closed, no one on reception. As the pub was closed there was no dinner available either so after a long drive I had to go back out to find food. I booked a pub to avoid this situation.

We recently stayed here for two nights. The room was okay, lots of loose fittings in the bathroom, but, it was perfectly fine for two nights. Whereas, the hospitality was fantastic. We were made to feel SO welcome. They recommended where we could eat, and even said we could eat a takeaway in the pub, so, although they dont do breakfasts or evening meals in the week, they certainly went above and beyond to solve the no food proble. FANTASTIC 😊👍

Greeted well, shown to room Relaxed genuine conversation. Double bed made up of two singles. Soft & possibly older mattress but comfortable with the extra topper (which creates the lump down the middle of the bed) slept well; 2 pillows with only 1 spare in the wardrobe. Both a fan & a heater provided (central heating radiator present) We had a far-end room & because it was very warm weather, the exit door to the car park was open constantly, which meant we heard cars coming and going late/early far more; double-glazed window. Cleanliness was pretty good but lacking attention to detail: old spider webs, very dirty fire sensor and lights (signs of smoking in room - tar marks present) Also the bathroom cabinet when opened smelt very musty probably from lack of use. Generally the decoration is tired with marks on the walls, some chipped paint and carpet marks- a good deep clean would help. Very small en-suite, shower cubicle was a corner unit meaning you lose 25% of space inside. The tap is poorly positioned (at the shallower end of the unit) such that it was easy to knock it with an elbow..frustrating as getting the correct temperature wasn’t easy- you need a faster flow to keep the hot water coming through (guessing their cold water pressure is much higher and an instant boiler) and occasionally the hot would disappear (maybe because of other users) Having said all that, I think the room is a decent size & for the cost was very good value- I hope they can resolve some of issues
