We came in late September-The room didn’t have any heating, we tried to move the air-conditioning mode to heating and it just pushed air out, we were freezing all night. The bad mattress and pillows were uncomfortable and blanket was too light to keep us warm. The room itself is very basic and simply designed, felt like two starts (maybe). We paid for one night $300 before fees and taxes- with the fees it ended up just under $500- the cost didn’t make sense for what we got,

If you plan to stay here, be sure to ask if there are any weddings planned for your weekend. The weekend we were there, there were two weddings. Consequently we were unable to eat the restaurant, go to the bar or even have breakfast on Sunday morning. The pool house rooms are basically spruced up Motel rooms that seem to have been built in the 1960's. I can't speak to the other rooms on the property though. It does seem like a beautiful venue for a wedding, but we were just there hoping to enjoy a weekend in the Catskills. Also note, the closest towns - Callicoon and Roscoe - are each about 20 minutes away and there are no Ubers available in the area so if you want to have a few drinks at dinner (or during the day), someone in your party will need to designated as the driver. Lastly, a few years ago, Callicoon had so many lovely little artsy stores. There seems to be more empty stores than I remember. It was kind of sad to be honest.

My main problem is with misrepresentation regarding the type of room you get. According to my hotels.com booking it was for a Comfort Room. At the property we received an A-frame cabin.

The room was lovely. The hotel is beautiful. We had a room in the actual building not in one of the outbuilding/cabins unfortunately because we were there just at the opening of season. The restaurant and bar were not up yet. Travel to other restaurants is good 10 to 15 minutes or longer. The pool was not open yet of course but during season, I’m sure it’s lovely and the staff was kind and very attentive.

While generally clean enough, the property does not let visitors know in advance that: a) their room will not have a TV; b) the rooms do not have cell service; c) the room has no desk; and, d) most of the rooms require a walk up a hill so steep that it required two "back-and-forth" paths. In addition, computer problems screwed up check-in such that after walking up the big hill, my key didn't work because it was for the wrong room. All of this doesn't make the property completely un-stayable, but at at $300/night (pre-tax) price, it was unacceptable.
