  • Let me preface these discoveries by saying that I ended up in Calella haphazardly. It is not necessarily a town that I would generally recommend. It is not your traditional Spanish/Catalan dream destination. It very much looks like something the 70's spit out and no one ever bothered to clean up. With that said, I freaking love this little freakish town, which I quickly & affectionately nicknamed "The Twilight Zone." The strangest occurrences happened throughout the month, yes MONTH, I lived in Calella. Apparently since the 70's, Calella, was a booming tourist destination for Western Europeans and the British. It has been on a massive decline over the past decade. What's left behind though are some fun Dutch and English/Irish pubs, a small welcoming expat community, and one of the most incredible beaches you will ever lay your eyes on. Beautiful clean white sand for miles and crystal clear turquoise water. Parties & bars on the beach, some free concerts in the summer time and of course drinking it allowed as well. If you happen to find yourself here, you must stop in at Beach Boys Club, tell the owners, Brian & Cathy, that Amber sent you. Then hit up Brian for his secret stash of American imported Budweiser (Did you know the bottled stuff is always produced in country? Brian believes the secrets in the water, so he gets the cans from the US. Brian is British, which makes this little story even better.) Also, be prepared to eat a lot of rotisserie chicken.

Another Incredible faultless stay.

Great location minus the views. Offset but only 100 yards from the beach and main stretch of restaurants/bars. Very friendly and welcoming. Outdoor pool by the bar and rooftop infinity pool (seasonal) plus optional exclusive use of outstanding spa pool facility (€5 euro ph) is the cherry on top. Recommend stay with breakfast only and venture out to the many great places to eat in Calella.

Amazing hotel and location. Great for adults.

Great hotel. Great location for both beach and main town. Recently refurbished bar. Great food. All the staff are welcoming helpful and friendly. Lovely out door pool. Comfort rooms are in a separate block to main hotel. Standard rooms are good size. Daily cleaning. Local train runs along the costa brava with amazing views. Great cheap connection for day trip to barcelona. Can get very busy at peak times. Amazing roof top infinity pool but comes with additional daily €35pp charge and is not included in the stay unless booking all inclusive.
Stunning beach only <200mtr from hotel.

Another amazing short break at DWO Palmeres. Fantastic hotel offset from the seafront, close to the main stretch of restaurants and bars, with some wonderful facilities to take advantage of. Weather permitting, don’t miss out on the roof top infinity pool. Only a short 15min walk to the train station connecting direct in 1hr 30mins to barcelona. Of course theres the beach. Only 500 yards from the hotel. Oh what a stretch of beach it is ……outstanding.

I enjoyed my stay at DWO Les Palmer's! I live in BCN and just wanted a quick weekend getaway and booked it at the last minute. I particularly enjoyed the infinity pool on the top floor. There is an additional charge but it was well worth it for some peace and solitude. The views were great up there. The staff was very friendly, efficient and accommodating, especially Manel at the front desk. Hope you enjoy your stay as much as I did!

We were only the night to sleep in this hotel. I really appreciated that the room was quiet and big. And I was so happy that I could separate the beds. Because my mom's sleep is not calm. The receptionicts were very friendly and their English was very good. Hard to find in Spain! :) The only thing was that the room had a certain strong smell. I don't know if it's because of cleaning liquids or because it's very old. When we arrived we saw police cars driving around. I don't know the reason but somehow you feel safe when you know the place is monitored. You can reach by walking very fast the sea and coffee shops, restaurants. And the price for two person was very good & fair. I can recommend it.

I very noisy hotel you can hear every footstep every car for every doorbank in the whole building during your night. The outside area just didn't seem or feel safe at night.

Lo que no me pareció de 4 estrellas - detalles muy poco cuidados: - spa - acondicionamiento de la habitación. Toallas muy viejas. - desorganización en el servicio de cena Mala suerte: un gran balcón pero en mi caso daba a la salida de aire del edificio de enfrente, con lo que era ruidoso. No puedo evaluar zona piscina dado que está cerrada por temporada baja. Tampoco usé la conexión wifi

El servicio del desayuno muy variado y delicioso. Solo recomiendo revisar la temperatura del sauna, pienso que esta demasiado caliente. Por lo demas excelente todo

Points positifs: Hôtel bien situé, propreté, restauration très variée, personnel agréable dans l’ensemble. Points négatifs: Beaucoup de bruit dans la salle de restauration et des difficultés d’échanger car le personnel ne parle pas français.

Très bien,bel accueil du personnel seul point négatif le parking est payant 12 € par jour et en plus est situé à quelques rues.

El hotel está bien, hemos estado una noche,las camas estaban limpias, el baño necesita un poquito de cambio por lo demás genial hemos tomado el desayuno hay había variedad, y el personal muy amable.
