This refreshing green area used to work as a complement of the important Thermal Hospital that named the town of Caldas da Rainha (“Queen‘s Baths“). During the 15th century the Queen Dona Leonor, wife of king Manuel the 1st, tried the therapeutic waters of Caldas da Rainha and a long lasting wound was at last cured, after many other treatments and medicines that did not work out. Lovely country home 10 minute drive to Obidos and

This home is so unique, an old traditional Portuguese rural country home. Lovely courtyard and place to relax in the am and have coffee, or enjoy a glass of wine. It felt comfortable and had an updated feel to it, but still old world. We loved staying here, loved hearing the birds, and it was a 10 minute drive to Caldas da Raina and Obidos. Wonderful place to spend a few nights!

Beyond Expectations

We had booked this as an overnight stopover as we traveled from Lisboa to Porto. Had we known how beautiful and well appointed it was, we would have planned to stay on further. Susana made check in simple and had everything anyone could want as far as amenities, even three beers and juice (there were three in our group). It was private and gave, what I would say, is an authentic Portuguese experience. Thank you, Susana!!! For any of our friends, family, acquaintances, I would whole-heartedly recommend! Muito Obrigado!!!

Best host ever!

Das Haus ist sehr persönlich und liebevoll eingerichtet. Es verfügt über alles, was man wünschen könnte, von neuen Elektrogeräten bis zu einer Sprudelbadewanne. Der grosse und sehr schöne Patio bietet nicht nur die Möglichkeit zum Essen und Sonnen, sondern, reich bepflanzt, auch ein Erlebnis für Auge und Nase. Das Haus liegt sehr ruhig und perfekt zwischen tollen Stränden und einer Stadt mit sehr guten Einkaufsmöglichkeiten (täglich bis 22:30 Uhr). Der tägliche Bauernmarkt ist klasse. Ein Auto ist zwingend nötig. In maximal einer Stunde Fahrdistanz sind viele Sehenswürdigkeiten erreichbar. Die Vermieterin ist grossartig und extrem hilfsbereit. Sie hat uns mit Rat und Tat über die Ferien hinweg unterstützt. Als wir bei unserer Anreise das gebuchte Mietauto nicht erhalten haben, hat sie uns sogar zweimal in die Stadt zum Einkaufen gefahren und uns dabei unterstützt, ein Ersatzauto vor Ort zu mieten! Bei unserer Ankunft hatte sie bereits frische Lebensmittel aller Art bereitgestellt. Das Haus wird wöchentlich gereinigt und die Wäsche gewechselt. Die ganze Familie hat sich wohlgefühlt - wir kommen gerne wieder!

Eine sehr nette, engagierte Vermieterin, die uns eine perfekte Unterkunft überlassen hat. Sauber, schön eingerichtet, mit vielen liebevollen Details ausgestattet. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und kommen gern wieder!! Einzig die Bettengröße ist gewöhnungsbedürftig in Portugal. Wenn man 1,80m oder noch größer ist, dann wird man Probleme haben seinen Platz im Bett zu finden - das war aber bisher bei allen Unterkünften in Portugal so...
