"New facility built with 2024. All employees, concierge, restaurant staff and housekeepers friendly. Calakmul is isolated and the archeological site is the only activity outside of the hotel but a must see. Three main pyramids that are climbable. Once on the top the view of the rainforest is impressive. We saw a family of spider monkeys and the howling monkeys. It was breath taking. Not a commercialized site with no vendors so you must take water with you. "

"We loved our stay at Casa Kaan. Each unit is surrounded by tropical plants and mostly the only sounds one hears are the birds and howler monkeys in the evening and in the morning. We heard the howler monkeys and saw a lot of birds, which is exactly the experience we wanted. The unit we were in was excellent with a good bed. The staff was friendly and helpful. We booked a tour to the ancient Mayan site of Calakmul through the hotel and it was incredible. The breakfasts were good and the restaurant serves up a limited, but delicious menu. We would definitely stay here again. "
