"Friendly and helpful staff, great food and great location"

"Just a short walk from the Ibiza Town Port, you will find the Hotel Royal Plaza. We'll situated for visitors to access the local shops and restaurants, as well as the ferries to travel to many of the Balearic islands. Guests are warmly greeted on arrival, and promptly checked in. The room had a balcony with partial view of the waterfront, a soft bed and good sized bathroom which included a bathtub and bidet. The continental breakfast was lovely, and the restaurant had a reasonable view , mostly overlooking a family play area. The hotel is in a fairly quiet section, which is great for those travellers wanting to take rest in the evening, to pursue a variety of activities and sights during the daylight hours. I would definitely return to the Royal Plaza, and give it a recommendation."

"When we arrived, we were surprised that there were two parts to the hotel that had us go across them down the street to get in. It was a very spacious room however we were greeted by a cockroach! The staff came immediately at removed it . We loved Jara restaurant downstairs in main hotel and the rooftop restaurant as well. The whole entire staff at The Standard were so nice and friendly. All this made us love the hotel ! I highly recommend staying there! Perfect location!!"

"Pretty much perfect in every way unless you have a food intolerance. Wonderful hotel, beautifully styled, never overly busy, great music and overall vibe. Delicious food but the hotel needs to improve its approach to food intolerances and ensure it avoids cross contamination where possible. We will be back next year - no doubt."

"We stayed in The Unexpected for one-night in September 2025. 
We had been in Ibiza and chose to stay at The Unexpected for the closing night of Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike. 
We stayed in an Anything Can Happen Suite and would highly recommend choosing that room. It’s stunning, luxurious and you feel like a bit of a rock star!

While the upfront price might seem expensive, once you factor in getting free show tickets and a bottle of champagne (I was expecting a cheap Cava but it was a limited edition bottle of Moet!), it’s actually reasonably good value. I’d also highly recommend the taking the breakfast - it is perhaps the best hotel breakfast I’ve ever had. There’s so many options, from the ice cream machine, cava, pizza, caviar, to all the usual options… amazing. The walk in price was €60 - and expensive breakfast on first look - but I’d say the quantity and quality of the food more than justify that price! Despite the proximity to the ‘club’ it’s actually very quiet in the room. You could hear the music on the balcony, but we never heard other guests or the music when we were in our room. The only downside of a high-end 5 star hotel is that the bar and extra prices are all high-end. And there will always be guests with clearly more money than you. I’d recommend staying at least one night in The Unexpected on your Ibiza trip."

"It was nice stay. The hotel is right by a beautiful beach. The amenities in the hotel was amazing! The only downside was the walls are pretty thin. You can hear everything from outside or above. "
