When you arrive at Happy Hollow Cottage, the teal exterior with the rosy cheeks front door gives you a hint of what’s waiting inside. A bright, simple, cheerfully renovated 900 sq ft cottage (winter 2025) with a wall of windows at the large lakeside deck provides a close-up view of beautiful Dale Hollow Lake from the inside and the outside. You have found your happy place!
A king bedroom and bath are on one side of the vaulted open plan living/dining/kitchen; on the other side are two more bedrooms and another bath. The kitchen is all new with a state-of-the-art induction range and peninsula seating lets guests chat with the cook. You can also cook outside on a large gas grill and lounge on the deck while enjoying the view and the privacy. This cottage is small and welcoming and has been designed as a comfortable place to kick back, relax and immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of nature on a quiet dead end road in Sherwood Shores. If you listen closely, you will hear a variety of owls hooting in evenings and early mornings and the birds sing all day from the heavy woods just off the deck. The bird, owl and animal decor inside reflects the world of nature found just outside. Up to a dozen squirrels and two dozen cardinals will often gather on the deck rails for an early morning breakfast if you put out some sunflower seeds. Enjoy the show!
Dale Hollow Lake is considered one of the most beautiful lake in the state of Tennessee. It holds the world record for small mouth bass, 11 lbs 15 oz, and was voted the number one houseboating lake in North America by a leading publication. If being on the water is what you enjoy, come take advantage of the 27,700 acres of water and 620 miles of heavily wooded shoreline where development is restricted to marinas and day-use areas. Happy Hollow Cottage is conveniently located just minutes from several marinas. The closest one (10 minutes away) is Sunset Marina. They rent pontoons, houseboats, other watercraft and dock space. Sunset has also recently opened a new restaurant. There is a separate off-road parking space at the cottage for your boat trailer/RV or check with the marina about parking space if you rent a dock slip.

We do have the property treated quarterly as a preventive measure, however there will be insects, Mosquitos, Ants, Spiders, Fleas, Ticks, Brown marmorated stink bugs, Gnats, Wasps, Spiders and Bees just to name a few. If any of the doors are left open, they will join you inside the property.We DO NOT guarantee an insect free experience.!!!
There are 2 surveillance cameras on the property next door. One camera overlooks the front driveway of that house. The 2nd camera overlooks the fire pit and this driveway. Both cameras record continuous video 24 hours per day - 7 days a week. Still images are recorded when the cameras detects motion.
