Sunrise Cottage is a welcoming side-by-side duplex with a reverse floor plan, located just steps from the ocean and offering beautiful ocean views. Designed for relaxed coastal living, this 3-bedroom retreat provides bright gathering spaces and comfortable accommodations for families or small groups.

The upper level features an open-concept layout with a fully stocked kitchen, dining area, cozy living room, and a convenient half bath. Ocean views can be enjoyed from the living area or from the oceanside porch, creating the perfect place to relax and unwind.

The lower level includes a queen master suite with a private bath and oceanside deck with ocean views, an additional queen bedroom, a bedroom with two single beds, and a full hall bath. The home comfortably sleeps up to 6 guests.

Sunrise cottage is spacious and comfortable for a family. The upstairs is open plan with a nicely sized kitchen and dining area, and living room that features a view out to the beach and ocean, as well as decks off the living room and main bedroom. So having a rainy day where everyone’s inside can still be a good experience here! When the suns up, walk right out to any spot you want on the beach, or a short drive to the lighthouse. Grocery and restaurants are close by. All in all the place is no frills, showing a little age, but is well kept and I would definitely recommend. Only things I wish I knew in advance: there are no beach items like you often find in a private rental, such as chairs or other amenities for guest use. The kitchen is not stocked with even the most basic of basics (like sugar for coffee) either. But that was easy enough to work around.

Only downside was the pull out couch is broken so my son had to sleep on just the couch. Also the handle on the microwave is broken.

Great spot

The location was exactly as described, just a few steps from the beach. We had neighbors but not too close. The home was bright, airy and very clean. Bedrooms were good size, bathrooms were large, kitchen was open. A/C worked great. No wweird house noises. The simple check in process was much appreciated after a long drive. We enjoyed our visit to OBX and would stay here again. PS need a new can opener.

Relaxing but needs updated.

Great location! The cleaning was ok, found a used bandaid and some trash under my daughters bed. There are several things that need to be fixed. The ice machine doesn't work, pillows are awful, the grill was falling apart, and there is a hole in one of the bathroom doors. I loved the views of the ocean from the house and all of the natural light. The beach was really clean without a ton of people right up on you. The pool and hot tub was nice and clean.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed the accommodations and view. The beach was very nice and no overcrowded. The only problem we encountered was several nail heads were protruding from the wooden deck. One of our family members tore the ball of her foot on one of these nails which resulted in an urgent care visit at Nags Head which was an hour drive one way. It ruined our last day of vacation. We did report this to the maintenance staff and they hammered the nails back into the deck. At least it will be safe for future visitors.

The Duplex is a perfect spot to jump over the dunes and fish. The unit is always clean and the staff in the office are very helpful and cordial.

Relaxing, delightful family vacation at Sunrise

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful stay at Sunrise Cottage! The cottage is just steps away from the beach. Loved the low-key beach scene with no motorized watercraft, no planes pulling advertising banners, no bars, loud music and partying, just families and friends enjoying time together. Diamond Shoals Restaurant next door was very good for breakfast and dinner! Cottage was nicely furnished and comfortable, good ocean view (partially obstructed by another cottage and power poles/lines). Wifi was good and reliable. Great water pressure in showers, water good and hot. Check-in/check-out very easy, didn't even need to go to the office. Note that the bathtubs in both bathrooms have pretty high sides, and no separate step-in shower - good to know if you have trouble stepping over high obstacles. A few things that could use improvement but by no means kept us from having a wonderful stay: Ice maker did not work, so we had to keep filling up the one ice cube tray available. All of the bed pillows were AWFUL - old, flat, uncomfortable. Remotes did not work with TVs automatically, which was a bit frustrating - we eventually figured out they weren't "paired" with the appropriate TV and we had to learn how to do that. But these are minor, easy fixes. It's easy to see why my mother-in-law and her late husband returned to Lighthouse View year after year, we were so happy to come back with her this year!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Sunrise Cottage was a great place to stay. The view from the living room was great. The cottage was equipped with all the basics. The bed was comfy, the couch and chairs were easy to relax on and the sprawling decks gave us the opportunity to take in the views. It was super frigid while we were visiting so we didn't spend a lot of time outside. The most disappointing part though was how much beach erosion had taken place from the recent storms/weather. There were sandbags to build a wall on the beach area to keep the ocean from overtaking the complex. I am sure they have plans to fix all of this so you can easily walk to the water's edge. It was so cold, that it didn't really cause an issue for us. I would recommend this place to any family for a nice comfortable and affordable stay in the Outer Banks!
