"The Gite served as a base for our exploration of the Arras region. The village is lovely with a lot of history - please try the fare at the local bakery. The Gite itself is small with 3 bedrooms but with potential to sleep 6. Having this number stay would perhaps be problematic with regard to the sitting room which, although comfortable, is small (but more than adequate for our stay). "We arrived at 1.50pm. The hotel seemed empty but we were told we could not check in until 2pm. We went and sat in our car until 2pm after no early check in was offered. The man on reception, he felt like he was our boss and offered a poor service. The room was warm and the bed not comfortable. We had a drink at the bar and the same member of staff served us but it appeared as if it was an inconvience to serve us. No one else was around, it was not as if he was busy dealing with other people. Not a pleasant stay"

"We checked in at 0030 so reception was closed which was expected. The message from the hotel gave me a code to use to gain entry. At the hotel I was faced with a check in computer asking for my name and reservation number . After 20 minutes I could not find a reservation number it would accept We used the intercom to speak to someone and got the reservation number. Using this we ‘eventually ‘ got the door to open after about 5 attempts. The code sent by the hotel was infact the reservation number . A simple change in language could have assisted here . Without my message to the hotel prior to travelling this code would not have been sent or available - so despite not knowing this code was the reservation number - how are you supposed to find that out if you don’t know you need it till 0030 when you are tired and trying to check in. It was a poor check in process which even asked for around 2€ in payment and if we wanted breakfast etc . Can you imagine at 0030 if I want this - we just wanted to get to bed not be questioned A very poor system "

"The TV and internet in the room did not work and could not be fixed during our stay despite asking twice. Apparently no engineer on site but why put us in this room when most rooms were empty? The evening meal in the Restuarant - my wife’s Cote de Beouf steak was not eatable . We informed the waiter who apologised several times but never offered to replace it. You still charged us in full for it. Real shame as otherwise nice venue that we may have considered using regularly when travelling back from alps to UK, I asked twice at reception for these problems to be considered and no one was available to consider a partial refund or even a gesture of goodwill. Still not heard from hotel more than 24 hours after check out. Very disappointing , still waiting on a formal response to my legitimate service complaint ."
