The carpets were dirty part of the bathtub was dirty. Hot tub was out of order and they didn't have an ice machine. Clerk at the desk said they renovated the whole hotel the downstairs rooms looked nicer than upstairs rooms.

A lot of the amenities such as the pool and breakfast were closed down. The hotel was as expected, it did not impress but did not have bed bugs so I would say it was a good stay! Would stay again if I had to.

The staff were amazingly friendly and catered to our needs! The rooms were very spacious and the bonus being a nice swimming pool especially in the summer heat, would definitely recommend buffalo lodge for tourists passing through and residents wanting some nice time off!

The Buffalo Lodge made me feel like family! From the front desk, to breakfast, to checkout (and everything in between) they were friendly, and their service was impeccable. I will stay at this hotel every time Im in Buffalo!

Really nice place to stay! Stayed here because all the hotels in Bolivar were sold out, but I will stay here again next time even though it's about 20 minutes east of Bolivar. Setting is very quiet, but a nice Woods grocery store is just down the street. Full-size refrigerator and microwave in room were nicer than I've seen in hotels costing much more. Smart TV with Roku was really nice.

Disgusting

This hotel is absolutely terrible. Completely rundown. The safety is dangerous. There is nobody working the front desk because there’s nobody staying at this hotel. They prop the door open in the front so the two guests that we’re staying there can get in at night. This must be a monthly rental it appears that people live there. I am absolutely disgusted. We ended up leaving because of the safety of the property.

Nice but grits please

Was nice the pool was down as was the hot tub that was a bummer but it was nice. They need instant grits would be my only recommendation I'm from the South and we eat grits.

Fine but not very secure

Security is a problem. We called ahead to let them know we’d be checking in after hours and were given a code for a lock box in which we would find our key. What was in our lock box instead was the master key, meant for the front desk girl the next morning. Our room keys were in the other lock box. Oops. Good thing we weren’t thieves or worse. Mistakes happen, but considering the outer entrance wasn’t even locked, the slide lock in our room had been busted in and never repaired, and our window screen looked like it had been pried open at some point and never repaired, I think security just isn’t a priority at this property. Just be aware.

The property was very outdated,dirty, and beds were uncomfortable. Many things were out of order like the secured access doors,vending and pop machines ,also the hot tub. The carpet was pullong up and rolled in areas, tacked down in others.The smell was musty, water damaged and stained ceilings and walls. The front desk lady was nice and friendly. The parking lot was very dark at night. The room was dirty and they took $20 bucks off. The price was expensive for such a rundown slum hotel. I was there for a funeral and the choices are very limited in this area.

The Buffalo Lodge is perfectly located for visiting my family in the area. The dining options are close by, and the main grocery store is across the street. Our room was clean and comfortable, we appreciated the larger sized refrigerator. We saw a review from someone else complaining that the bathroom door wouldn't close...we must have had that room...it was disappointing that it's still not fixed. The carpets in the stairwell going to the second floor and on the second floor need to be replaced, they smelled awful...almost like cat pee. They do allow pets..so not sure if that's why. We were there during the week so there was no hot breakfast, just a selection of packaged grits, oatmeal and poptarts along with a community coffee pot. For being the only gig in town they really could use some upgrades. We may need to go VRBO next time.

Upon returning to the motel at 9:30 pm on 10/04/25, our key card had been changed and we were unable to access our room. Went to the desk and there was a sign stating that they didn't have anyone working and to call an emergency number. Several messages were left before actually talking to a man that said someone was on their way. Over an hour later we called again. The man srated that someone was coming from Springfield MO to let us on . We waited another hour and called again. This time the man said he would come himself that he was only 15 minutes away. We didn't get into our room until after midnight. This is totally unacceptable 10/
