We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights from April 18-22nd. We had ordered a superior double room and when we arrived we received room nr 004 (?), immediately when we went in the smell of mold came to us. We opened the window to air out and went to the store (store is 2 min from the hotel). The smell was still there and we checked the bathroom and when we looked up into the ceiling could you see a lot of black mold in the ceiling. We contacted the reception and asked to change room since it could not be safe to stay in that air - we then received a new room (106) - this room was smaller than the first room, so not sure if we received a superior room. But it did not have the smell of mold so we were pleased.
The hotel should upgrade the bathrooms or have a proper down cleaning - the new room also had mold in the bathroom / shower area, but not nearly as much as the first room. You just smelled it there in the bathroom.
The cleaning for the rest was ok, they should clean the walls more as it was marks there also. Other than that the room was clean and they changed towels and made the bed every day.
The reception staff was ok - I want to give a shout out for Sophie. She answered our emails before the stay and sent us information that was good to know. She also checked us out, and from the 3 different we met during our stay she was the most service minded of them all (just the little things like smiling, saying hi and wishing us a good day).
