Our family of 3 (+ 2 dogs) spent a very relaxing week at Mountain Magic. The mountain views, new deck, and stargazing from the hot tub were highlights for us! The beds and sofas were comfortable and the cabin was very clean.
We did not realize the upstairs bedroom was in an open loft and that the air hockey table was alongside the king bed there. The downside to this for us was that noise traveled though the house and it was difficult to have TV or music playing in more than one place. It’s also worth noting that the top steps leading the the loft have different rises (and are marked) so take care with kids or older adults. This may not be an issue for you, though.
The neighborhood is very quiet and we enjoyed walking some of the nearby trails and casting a line into the pond.
Bryson City is about 20 min away and we enjoyed our time hiking the Three Waterfalls loop at the Deep Creek park (GSM National Park), just outside downtown. Sylva was about 40 min away but worth it to us for time at the great bookstore, quirky shops, etc. NOC always does a great job leading zip line adventures and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them!
Bring your own ziplock bags, foil, etc. The cabin has equipment like a griddle, slow cooker, blender, etc. There were a handful of dried herbs and salt & pepper, on hand, too.
