Brush Creek State Forest

Great place to stay very clean and nice area

This property was more than I could have ever expected! It looks like something out of HGTV. It’s absolutely gorgeous and so many tiny unique details. The beds are very comfortable, lots of towels in the gorgeous bathroom and the kitchen is fully stocked with everything for preparing meals. Unfortunately we were only staying for one night but I will absolutely be booking here again! Things to keep in mind tho, the top floor bedroom with 2 beds has VERY steep and narrow steps so if you have balance issues or small children I would suggest not having them sleep in that room. Also it would be very difficult to bring up or down a large suitcase but for the one night we stayed it wasn’t much of an issue. The parking is limited and even with the wonderful specific directions it was a little confusing at first and we did have to park on the next block over after returning later in the evening after a concert. It wouldn’t deter me tho, just make me keep in mind how much I pack and have to unload into the unit 😆all in all it was a perfect place!! 10 out of 10!!!

The staff I interacted with were fabulous, especially Marcos in the Buckeye Bourbon House. The breakfast was fine - It's your standard upgraded continental hotel breakfast buffet. The building itself is really cool. The preservation of the historical architectural features of the old bank are really beautiful. My big issues relate to the overall condition of the hotel, especially the elevator and room. One of the elevators appeared to be under construction and was in really rough shape. Unfortunately this is the elevator that came for me every ride but one - The other elevator was nice! My room itself was a little rundown. There were loose tiles in the kitchen by the floor. The door to my room did not close correctly - It had to be slammed very loudly. The TV did not have streaming services, something common to most Marriott properties.
