A perfect bush getaway, yet close enough to great places which you can explore such as the Hunter wineries. This was the best find for us and we will definitely be coming back. The whole vibe of the house and its location was perfect. The owners were very quick to respond to any queries and extremely nice people. We were six adults and we all loved it!

Our dusk outdoor fire which lasted for a few hours. All the wood was provided and the pit was set up Ashe’s rest for us to flick a match to!

We had the best weekend. Beautiful place, comfy beds and great log fire (kept burning all weekend thanks to Garry ). Loved everything about Brunkie Barn. Jan and Garry are great hosts. We'll definitely be back.

A lovely cabin in a beautiful forest setting. Everything was clean and as shown in the photos. The kitchen has everything we needed for preparing meals and the beds were comfortable.Thanks Garry and Jan for having us stay at your wonderful cabin and for being so responsive to any questions.

Tranquil Escape in the Bush

We had a wonderful stay at the bush cabin! The peaceful surroundings and beautiful natural setting made it the perfect spot to unwind. The cabin was cozy, clean, and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. We especially loved waking up to the sounds of wildlife in the morning. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in nature!

Beautiful!

Beautiful, tranquil and relaxing! We had a wonderful weekend at this amazing property. So nice to arrive to the lit fire warming the place up nicely. Lovely hosts, close enough to help but far away enough for privacy.Thanks so much for having us.

Garry & Jan, are wonderful hosts. The house is stunning with everything we needed. We all enjoyed relaxing around the indoor fireplace. In the evenings we especially liked toasting marshmallows around the outdoor fireplace. The location is great and easy to get to from M1 motorway. It is also an easy drive to lots of great local vineyards and the Hunter Valley gardens. We even visited Toronto on the lake for lunch. Thank you for a lovely time away.

So special!!

I actually don’t think the listing does justice to how beautiful this little retreat is! It has all the best parts of being out in nature but with all your creature comforts like a cosy fireplace, comfy beds, and a full kitchen. Thank you Jan and Garry! We can’t wait to come back :)

Relaxing holday

We had great time at Garry’s place! The wonderful house in the forest filled with amazing personal touches, board games and the fireplace made for an absolute pleasure of a stay! Kids loved a friendly dog who liked to visit us.

Easter Weekend Stay

It was wonderful to return again. We enjoyed our stay very much. This time we were able to put the Bomfire to use and roast marshmallows. The kids enjoy the bike trails and bushland ventures. It’s beautiful and quiet with everything you need to enjoy a peaceful stay.

Peaceful bush location

I needed a ‘time out’ and this place was absolutely perfect. Private and peaceful, surrounded by stunning bushland, birds and wildlife. Walking trails have been thoughtfully created around the property, where you can stroll for hours. The accommodation itself is spacious and has everything you’ll need. Plenty of room inside, with a big enclosed deck upstairs, and front and rear verandas. I will definitely be back to this little gem!

We stayed two nights and were very comfortable. The property is quite lovely and well kept. All in all a pleasant stay which we would recommend to others.

Extremely Disappointing Stay – Urgent Feedback

We stayed there on December 28th. Although the road to the property was unpaved, the hosts were kind. However, from the very first day, we noticed several mice in the house. As a result, we had to keep all our dishes and luggage sealed, which made us feel uncomfortable. Despite our efforts, we couldn’t get rid of the mice because the house was full of inaccessible holes, allowing the mice to move around freely.On the second night, at around 4 a.m., while we were asleep, a mouse got into our bed, causing immense fear and panic. We were left with no choice but to pack up immediately and return home. This experience has left my wife and daughter with a fear of mice, and we will likely need to consult a psychologist for them.I can never recommend this place. Our money and holiday time were completely wasted in the worst possible way. I am deeply disappointed.

Comfort in the wild.

We were very comfortable and enjoyed our visit. Beautiful accommodation with bathroom downstairs. Well appointed, I loved the tea/coffee selection. Not the deafening cicadas so much. They did pipe down for our delicious barBQ. Thanks Garry
