"The property was of a basic nature and very tired in places. The bathroom paint was peeling off the walls. The bed was a small queen bed that wasn't big enough for 2 adults to get a good night sleep. The mattress was very thin and uncomfortable. Due to this we left the property early and had to book a hotel. I also tried to contact the property as advised by Sykes cottages, but my calls were unanswered and not returned. Overall a disappointing stay. There are plenty of better rentals available."

"My daughter and I stayed in the Orme lodge, it was lovely. Nice and warm, squirrels outside the windows. Hot tub is just a hot tub - not one with bubbles! so don't look for a button to press lol Very peaceful. If you go with kids (i went with teenager) then maybe take a laptop to watch netflix etc on. wifi connection great. "The Coach House is a lovely property with incredible views. The property was immaculate and lots of consideration given to travellers. The welcome pack was much appreciated and Chris could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. I loved the upside down style and it did not affect the views. "We had booked what we thought was a higher end hotel, well we paid a higher price for our twin room. The first room we were given was room 116 and was tiny, the window started about 7 feet up and so had no view or air in the room. The bed frames were frayed and very dated. The walls and very high ceiling looked like it had previous damp. We were moved to another room 516, equally small but had a window to let some air in as it was so hot. All facilities were basic and tired. The breakfast was mass presumed, for a hotel this size there could have been fresh coffee, not out of machine. There was plenty of choice but all very basic, cheap ingredients and the cooked breakfast was obviously massed cooked and lacked the finish to make it a good breakfast (over fried hash browns, dry sausage and black pudding, weird half fried half poached egg) The grand lounge was indeed grand, the wine in the bar was good value £24 for a bottle of NZ Sauvignon. It felt to me like a very budget hotel with high ceilings and a few chandeliers. I would not recommend here which is a shame as this could be an excellent hotel. "
