Really enjoyable stay. The WiFi (in our room) was very flaky, and not really working that well. Mind you we were in the very top floor so maybe that was the issue. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

We had an excellent overnight stay, the staff were helpful and efficient, room clean and in good condition, the hotel public spaces were well furnished and also in good condition. Breakfast was very good, enough choice, my wife having a vegan breakfast was no problem at all, food was fresh and well cooked. Overall a great experience and we will be happy to use Holiday Inn Express again.

It had only opened a month before, following extensive refurbishment, so I was expecting nothing less than perfect! But the room we were given smelt bad! Like unclean people had been in there, nothing fresh/clean about it, but we decided to stick with it overnight. The next night.we had an issue with the smart tv-there were no freeview channels & only one app installed, BBC iPlayer, which was ridiculous! We asked for someone to come and fix it. They couldn't, so offered to move us to a different room. We were more than happy to do this, especially as the smell was still horrible in there. We moved to room 327 & this smelt so fresh & properly cleaned, it was lovely, &2 the tv worked. However we did need a new remote control & the Wi-Fi connection to the tv was dreadful. We could watch freeview, but couldn't use the one app! We put up with this, as we didn't want to complain again. The room was lovely & quiet, and very dark, ...bliss. The free breakfast was brilliant. Hot cooked food, fruit, cereals, porridge, toast, croissants, mini muffins, yoghurt, unlimited hot drinks, juice, choice of milks & two coffee machines, which could be better as they are so slow! But when it wasn't so busy at breakfast, this wasn't a problem. Great location for fuel and access to the M5, plus other shops right opposite like Costa, Greggs, Lidl, a Marstons pub right next door (The White Willow), plus a farm shop selling meat etc. DO NOT PAY for parking! Plenty of road space all around the hotel 😊

Overnight stay on our journey

Easy access from J24 M5, four sisters staying one night, very clean with toiletries provided, buffet breakfast included in rate was generous and well stocked. Will never stay in an alternative if there is a Holiday Inn available on our travels, excellent value for money.

Very clean modern property, well equipped room. Breakfast not ace, they struggled to keep it topped up and wasn’t a massive choice of cooked items, Premier Inn do a better job.

The only problem was the breakfast there was not enough staff to keep the food stocked up and tables cleared and cleaned. The staff that wete thete were so busy but very friends and helpful

We had booked a family room, extras had not be provided and I had to chase for towels, cups and extras. Room was tiny for a family and we had no room to move and smack our legs on bed frames. Inside the kettle was foul and had brown slime inside. Fan in the bathroom didn't work either. Breakfast was mad, Covid had clearly gone out the window people touching and grabbing everything. On a good note the beds were really comfy.

Shocking

We were due to stay for 1 night Christmas shopping trip @ Street. Arrived early evening to be told "we tried to contact you sir , the hotel is closed to the public". The hotel was being used to house asylum seekers? We had to travel back up the M5 to another hotel. Also missed dinner at a local pub that we had booked. I appreciate these people need somewhere but H.I did not advise us at all until we arrived????? Will never book with them again!!!

Handy location for Carnival

Hotel very busy due to Carnival but check in was efficient and friendly. We had to park in pub csrpark and register on their system to avoid a fine but had no issues doing so. Room was a reasonable size with all the amenities we needed. Bathroom quite stylish with spacious shower and nice tiles. Only omission was a heated towel rail. We had to pick a slot for breakfast due to it being so busy. Breakfast was the weak link with limited choice. Coffee was un- drinkable - latte was weak and watery, flat white bitter and watery. Hot chocolate was much better. Staff work hard.
