The dining and bar area was large and beautifully maintained. There was lots of outdoor seating too which has stunning views of the peaks. Staff were always happy to help and service was very quick. It was a very relaxing environment which was a perfect way to wind down in the evening.
Really comfy bed and room which was immaculate including a little note from housekeeping saying enjoy your stay! A lovely touch!
Breakfast and my evening meal were absolutely delicious .
All staff were very friendly and helpful.
Special mention to the chef (with the jack russell puppy) who made the most amazing breakfast!
The shower was powerful and the toiletries provided were of great quality.

Overall it was ok. We felt we had to chase round to get anything we wanted. Some of the staff were ok but some rather aloof. The welcome pack for the dog was a nice touch. The parking fine. The decor a bit mismatched . The cleaners need to bend down and look up! I also think that the castle itself could do with a good tidy, weed, etc to show it’s beautiful potential.
We were coming from Hay-on-wye where we checked out a day early due to disappointing accommodation and we booked the hotel last minute. The reviews informed us the hotel had recently been beautifully renovated but that there were some issues with the climate control (there was none). As the night was cool enough we did not have issues with the temperature and the ventilator next to the bed was put to good use. The entire hotel was gorgeous and tasteful. The staff was extremely helpful (and one of the waitresses was genuinely funny). The lady at the reception, whilst polite was just a tad snarky. At breakfast we noticed the manager was working in the breakfast room overseeing the breakfast, staff and tending to guest. Love that! That is what makes a hotel great. We also had dinner the night before and that was excellent as well. Will definitely want to come back or to any of the other hotels of the Coaching Inn Group.
Lovely Hotel.Reception staff were very helpful. I had a superior double room well worth the extra cost. Had a lovely ploughmans and sticky toffee pudding for lunch in bar area, really enjoyable.Nice patio outside for evening drinks!!!Breakfast was excellent set in a beautiful dining room, service was excellent especially from sue who went out her way to make it enjoyable! This was my first visit to the Castle Hotel of Brecon and it won't be my last!!
