"The property was clean, pleasantly decorated and contained all the essentials we needed for a small family group. It was good to have a table and chairs on the decked area overlooking grassed space, where my grandson could play. Good location, near Fort Victoria and Colwell Bay and a short drive from the shops in Freshwater."

"Vile place, i have never seen such an appalling carpet! The rooms are extremely dated and poorly maintained. There were several hairs on the toilet and noisy undesirable neighbours. The lady on reception was fine but the security guard seemed more interested in his phone than his job!"
"The whole experience from checking in with the very friendly staff to enjoying the bar late at night, lovely sleep at night, great breakfast in the morning and then swim in the pool was a joy for the whole family. Would definitely stay again. "
"After reading the reviews I wasn’t sure but to be fair it was great, staff were run off their feet and helped with any enquiries. Breakfast was great, pool was small but great to cool down after being on the beach all day!
Out room was clean and spacious with everything we needed.
Will definitely be back in the summer or even a winter break 😁"
"This fading gem was originally a 5 star hotel in eras gone by, hosting famous people and the rich. It is now in a sad state, with much needed repair and renovation to the building and facilities. The pool is not very ckean, cloudy and has an unrepaired leak that has been left, and the hose has to constantly fill the pool. The filter unit is sticking up from the pool bottom and remains unrepaired with the end of the pool blocked off
The breakfast costing £14.50 pp was the worst I have had in years. No clean mugs so paper cups instead. Hot buffet mostly cold and eggs undercooked. Very little food kn offer. One type of pastry with one burnt croissant left! No cheese or ham and little choice to spread on toast. Sticky mess left uncleared up in front of tea coffee machine. On plus side Clipper tea bags were good. Other plusses were lovely sea view from room. Suoerior room was very spacious with small stone balcony. Great shame that hotel and facilities have let to get into disrepair. On a final note parking in hotel car park is £20.00 per day!! Lovely location right opposite zig zag to beach, crying shame about the state of hotel and restaurant, bar."
"Overall a good stay.
My standard room was located on the 2nd floor with no lift in that part of the hotel.
It was compact - suitable for one person but would be tight for two - as I was travelling alone maybe that’s why I was placed there.
Two of the three window openings were on safety latches so airflow through the room was limited and with the warm weather it did get extremely hot.
Breakfast was self service - there were a range of hot and cold options - hot options were scrambled eggs, beans, hash browns, bacon, sausages, black pudding and toast.
A choice of eggs (fried / poached) and mushrooms would have been welcomed.
Food in the restaurant was nice.
Facilities were good - having a pool, a gym and outdoor enclosed seating area was welcomed.
Parking at the hotel was £10 per night - it was ok getting a space on Friday evening but coming back from a day trip on Sunday evening I had to park on a nearby road."
"Didn’t start very well with a late check in. - room not ready. It then got worse! The room - bathroom - more hair on the floor in the shower than on my head! The flat screen TV - as big as my iPad and tucked around the corner. The beds - sprinkled with crumbs - cleaner eating lunch? Duvet was thick and heavy and no fan. Then to cap off - the guests that are incapable of considering other guests - noise, door slamming and the smell of weed! We have photos - we will not be showing them!"
