'At first, she seemed peaceful and then greeted us with a huge waterfall (Štrbački Buk); several smaller – yet dangerous – waterfalls followed… The waters were warm and greener by the minute. As we left the Croatian border and deepened into Bosnia, the water was emerald-like. Mysterious and deep… Underwater plants looked like green lace, it felt like an ancient story. I took a minute to look around: the forests were sturdy, as they seemed to guide and protect Una. She had lent them a little of her mystery. We were surrounded by wild duck – happy to make our acquaintance – and by giant fish, swimming undisturbed. Her waters were calm now (not a single breath of wind would move them). And as the sun left our sights and the night crawled in, the waters darkened and got cold. Our fascination was still at the highest degree, as we kept paddling and staring at the pink sky. Although hearing stories about the many people she took away through her hidden galleries underground, I never stopped feeling safe. She seemed perfect, flawless.' #waterlust #BestOf5

Strbacki buk waterfall is a 25 m high waterfall on the Una River (296 m altitude). It is situated on the border between Croatia (Lika-Senj County, city Donji Lapac, settlement Kestenovac) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (Una-Sana Canton, city Bihać, settlement Doljani and Celije). On Croatian side, „Una Mamea Park“ is located and on Bosnian and Herzegovinian „Una National Park“. #BVStrove
Above Umoljani Village at Mt. Bjelasnica in Bosnia and Herzegovina, on another side of the hill there is a Studeno Polje (Field) and Studeni Potok (The Cold Creek). The creek has a shape similar to the snake movement in the sand. Legend has it that once upon a time people of Umoljani Village were attacked by a terrible big dragon with snake shaped body that came from Rakitnica Canyon. The villagers prayed to the God to protect them against the dragon. Prayers were answered and dragon was petrified in the stone on the Posiljak Hill, just above the village. Jahorina is where 14th Winter Olympic games took place.Located in Republica Srpska-Bosnia&Herzegovina who suffered during 1992-1995 civil war.Very cheap for skiing holiday but in slight need of modernization.Lots of great hotels and appartments but still need a lot of investments to compete with rest of Europe ski resorts
