Wonderful property. Very pleasant setting. Only 20 minutes from there center of Bordeaux. HOWEVER, do NOT try to drive to Bordeaux from this hotel. It took me more than one hour because of the horrible traffic, the oneway streets, the street closures, etc.. even with Gps.Likewise for returning to the hotel from the city center

Very overpriced restaurant, no elevator to acess room, only 2 flights of steep stairs, no electrical outlet by the bed, complicated wifi access, noise from the morning traffic audible from the room.
ps : hotels.com n'a pu rien faire
Very unique, beautiful hotel on a special location that facing Bordeaux Center, and you can lying on bed or poolside or restaurant for beautiful sunset. No elevators on site, but they have staffs to carry luggage for you. There is a nice restaurant on site.
The staff called and checked on us around 9pm, but then after 11pm, the front desk called and said one of the customers reported that our car front light was on, but the problem was they parked our car and they had our key and they asked us to go down to grab the key and walk down a very dark driveway to their parking area to check our car, that was a bit ruined our night.
The staff was great and the grounds are spectacular, with an amazing view of Bordeaux, but the hotel was disappointing- I booked this hotel because of their restaurant just to discover, with no prior information, that it closes Sunday and Monday, the 2 days we were there. They said they send me a notice, but I never received it, maybe because I booked through another party.
The hotel is tired and old, and the rooms are not very clean, I have pictures of dirty bathroom doors, stained floors, etc... It was hard for me to climb onto the bed, it was so high, granted I’m only 5’2” feet. Hard mattresses, the room has an uncomfortable layout, with nowhere to sit near the bed and dark sitting area. I suppose it was a ground-breaking architectural project in its day, by Jean Nouvel, but quite frankly, it is uncomfortable, and the rusted iron outside is an eyesore, in contrast to the beautiful old farm house.
I guess it was my fault for booking it, but I didn’t realize that it was so far from anything. There is absolutely nothing to do near the hotel, except some walks on some beautiful trails if you like exercise. They have a restaurant affiliated to the hotel a couple of minute’s walk, with bad service and even worse food, for the price. We did find a little gem of a restaurant a couple kms walk from the hotel, if you don’t mind the hike, with much better food at half the price in Latresne…you know where the French eat.
Won't go back.
This is my husbands second visit and we were pleasantly surprised to receive an upgrade. Most comfortable bed, amazing views and all the little extra touches in the room made it special. All staff were very helpful and friendly. Merci beaucoup!
Beautiful hotel with modern, clean rooms. The view of Bordeaux from a distance and the vineyards is spectacular .
The restaurant St.James is delicious and has one Michelin Star!

Quirky hotel, great surroundings
A real surprise, very comfortable rooms and great views. Village is an oasis outside Bordeaux. Lack of restaurant facilities on Sunday and Monday night a big of a shame.
