Pros- very spacious, the most pet-friendly location I’ve ever stayed (wonderful outdoor patio area that’s pet-friendly, dog bath, etc), and beautiful location!
The only con is that the cabin was too stuffy for our liking. There were units attached to the wall, but they either didn’t work well, didn’t work at all, or we were too dumb to operate them. There were also no ceiling fans in the bedroom.
Would I stay here again? Yes, but only during cooler months.
Pros:- very clean, no pet smell, everything was very nice.- well stocked kitchen. We are a family of 8 and cook alot. The kitchen had plenty of plates, pans, utensils, tupperware, etc. This was a big plus for us. - beds were very comfy, no cheap thin mattresses. Linens were also high quality and soft/ warm. - very warm and cozy.- tons of room for a big family without craming in - super close to beech mountain and the sled hill (21 minutes to food lion in banner elk as closest store)-parking and access were easy no crazy driveway on a hill. - overall super well furnished and lots of games, movies (big doctor who fans!) and books (love the take a book policy!)Cons: Nothing really at all wrong. It was a wonderful place. Gun to my head, the toilet paper was a little cheap/thin.
We really enjoyed our stay here! The place was clean and comfortably slept all 12 of us! The view was incredible too and the deck was very nice. The kitchen was spacious and allowed us to cook some big meals with all the utensils and equipment provided, so thank you! Firepit on the deck worked just fine too. Vaccum and shovel was nice to have as well. Wish we could have found paper towels somewhere, but it was all good. Trash bags were stocked up which is nice. Love this place, would definitely stay here again next year. Maybe there'll be a hot tub next time ;)
Convenient location, snow covered moubtain view. Deer everywhere. Excellent for hosting large group. Quite comfortably handled 10 of us and dogs. Kitchen and accessories worked out well for feeding large group. Wonderful family vacation!
The guys were very comfortable staying in the house. It is hard to put 6 guys in a house when they each need a bed and they aren't cramped. They were very happy !! close to the job

Perfect for my family getaway!
We booked a last minute winter vacation for my husband, myself, Two young boys as well as my mom, brother, and great grandparents. It was the perfect setting. Deer surrounded our home daily which was exhilarating for my boys, the home was very accommodating for us and my pup! The kitchen is very well stocked, and Nintendo64 was a hit! It took 25 minutes to get off the mountain, but otherwise very near anything you needed. Great stay!

Magic weekend
We love staying in La Shika Chalet it was clean and spacious place for enjoying with pets and family and Ski resort it’s close .
The house is situated in a beautiful neighborhood just 10 mins from Beech Mountain Resort. The home is well thought out to accommodate a family or two with everything you need. The kitchen had everything needed and a lot of extras. Bedrooms and bathrooms (all 4 are full baths) were well done with 3 of the bathrooms looked like there were recently updated. We were surprised to find that the 4th bedroom in the listing is the office upstairs with a pull out couch. Looking over the listing it shows 2 twins and 2 futons/sofa beds. You can see this room in the photos - the office with the leather couch. This worked out fine as your 18 year old was fine on the sofa bed and the room is private and uses the upstairs bathroom. As we were leaving we all agreed we would return to this beautiful home next time we were traveling in the area.

Good and Bad
House was beautiful and large enough to accommodate our group of 11. BUT not enough towels, wash rags or hand towels (only 2). Coffee pot was broken, dust under beds and sofas, bugs in the kitchen window, no response from Vacasa when we reported these problems. Vacasa people kept texting/saying that they would take care of this right away, but never did. If we had just had any response at all from Vacasa about the problems we noticed right when we got there, the stay would have been wonderful.
This was a beautiful, cozy, perfect family gathering place. The kitchen was so spacious and amazingly equipped especially for a Thanksgiving and birthday celebration. Roasting marshmallows on the fire pit grill on a beautiful spacious deck was so fun. The beds and bathrooms were very nice. We so enjoyed the living room that had room for all of us. Can ’t say enough about this lovely chalet.
The whole process of booking was easy! The place was awesome, loved the 3 King beds. Also loved waking up both mornings to 10-12 deer grazing outside the windows. Kitchen is well stocked and place was clean.
Great home... well appointed (from kitchen, to games, to making pets comfortable!)
The home was very comfortable with lots of room to spread out... My husband and I were alone, but the house could easily accommodate three couples (each with their own king) and more utilizing the bunks and pull out sofa. The kitchen had everything you could need with LOTS of utensils, mugs, and flatware. We loved having the Keurig!
The house is perfectly set up for dogs too! The decks have gates so your pup can run from the top deck, down the stairs to bottom deck, and then (the best part) to under the bottom deck with mulch, lighting, and pooper scooper/pail. The owner thought of everything!
We really enjoyed our stay and would go again with a large crowd!

Quiet location but alittle too dog friendly
This house was a little too dog friendly for us. We have a furry family member but we left him behind this trip.. There was alot of past occupants dog hair on the floors and stairs (long white and black hairs) We brought 2 small kids that ended up finding alot of it 😬 bedding downstairs had dog hair on it on top and underneath. The lower level seemed to have some moisture issues and smelled very musty, the carpet squishes when you walk on it. The location is good, the neighborhood was quiet lots of things nearby and it was nice to see deer every morning.
Property is clean, bright, nicely decorated, and well maintained. We appreciated all the games and books, gas fireplace, and the foosball table. The enclosed porch and dog wash made it so easy to have our dog with us. Location is great - on a quiet street with a view of the mountains (in winter, when trees are bare), and so many deer! This was a vacation our family will treasure.
We have rented from VRBO for many years and this has been one of our best experiences with the rental. I hope the property managers continue their upkeep of the place as they seem to have thus far. We will be back. Note: it is remote in terms of access to food/restaurants - so come prepared.
Place was great. Kitchen fully stocked. Nice bedding and bathrooms. Was surprised by how much space was available for a dog on desks and fenced area. Would book again.
While no mountain view from the deck, the location was picturesque and very peaceful. There were deer laying by the roadside, wandering the yards and golf course and seen every walk! The house had everything one could need. The kitchen was very well equipped. I loved the gated porches and my pup loved racing from one level to the other.

Great house in the high peaks of the Appalachians! Short trips to waterfalls, swimming holes, hiking, biking, and more... We loved our time there! The house is beautiful and has everything you need for vacation living.
