A short walk leads to the station where the popular Bodmin and Wenford Steam Railway runs to Bodmin with its historical jail, shops, restaurants and pubs. From the station at Bodmin Parkway you can walk to NT Lanhydrock House. From the cottages you can walk to the Camel Valley Vineyard to sample and purchase the local wines. Within walking distance is the local pub and the Camel Trail, a level disused railway line, with an abundance of wildlife along the Camel Estuary - ideal for walkers, cyclists and horse riding. The properties are ideally situated to visit the North Cornwall coastal resorts of Tintagel, Boscastle, Port Isaac, and Padstow - home to Rick Stein’s & Paul Ainsleys famous restaurant. Close by are the South Cornwall coastal resorts of Fowey, Looe and Polperro, or take a trip to the famous Eden Project. A short drive away is unspoilt Bodmin Moor, Rough Tor and Brown Willy. Golf, horse riding and fishing are all nearby. Shop and restaurant 1½ miles, pub ½ mile in Bodmin We also have our own bar and restaurant situated on the farm that offers drinks alongside small or large plates of exceptional quality.

Penny Cottage provided a specious, yet very cosy stay, with excellent, easy access to the Camel Trail for great walks and a complete break in nature. We would definitely recommend!
We stayed for 11 days and loved the house. Wide angle camera lenses often create the illusion of bigger spaces, but this flat really was very spacious. The bedroom was big with a nice bed and plenty of storage (a bigger bed would be ideal). Separate toilet and shower rooms were nice. The kitchen was big and well fitted. The real bonus was the spacious lounge with two couches (although the TV definitely needs to be upgraded). The wood-burning stove was wonderful. The location is super convenient with easy parking, and there is easy walking access to the Camel Trail right from the flat. The door lock was broken so we could never lock the house when we left, but the property always felt very safe and secure. We truly enjoyed our stay!
We had a lovely stay in this beautiful barn conversion. It was spotlessly clean and had everything you need provided. There is also a dishwasher and washing machine. The bed was lovely and comfortable. There is a log burner in the lounge with a supply of wood but we didn’t feel the need to use it as the electric central heating was sufficient for us. Lovely and cosy to return to after a day out. We will definitely be staying there again.

Excellent 7 day relaxing break in the West Country surrounding.
Excellent 7 day relaxing break in the West Country surrounding. Peaceful and clean. Cosy comfortable stay.
The only one issue we had was No TV enjoyment as we like to spend lot of time indoors too.
Television was just basic with about 8 channels only and when questioned, the owners said that they don’t receive any channels other than basic ones, VERY BORING. They can install SKY to accommodate some more entertainment.

Very enjoyable stay, comfy bed and settees, modern bathroom and open plan living kitchen dining area
Very enjoyable stay, comfy bed and settees, modern bathroom and open plan living kitchen dining areas.I would have liked a bigger tv as we stayed In each evening especially as it was impossible to eat out mon, tue and wed. Lovely to hear the horses past by each morning. We had an horrendous 6 and a half hour Journey to get there, it would have been nice to have a basic welcome pack and would have saved a visit to the shop that evening.
Lovely cottage, quiet and well maintained.

Beautiful accommodation in a rural setting!
Excellent walks via the camel trail 1/2 a mile away (stop at the Borough Arms car park) This is a lovely place any time of year, our Christmas was idyllic with a log fire and cosy comfort! Dog friendly so if the weather is wet take some towels to protect the light carpet in this very well nicely furnished getaway!

enjoyed the cottage very much, very spacious, very comfortable. disappointed there was no welcome pack, would have been nice after 5 hours driving to have had at least a pint of milk to make a cup of tea. everywhere else we have stayed have had this, so that was a let down. other than that a great stay.
