"The staff were all very friendly and the lodge is clean, charming and updated. We had dinner in their restaurant which came out quickly and was delightful. Breakfast was included and we were able to order from the menu. We’re definitely returning next year. This place is a hidden gem."
Cozy 2-bedroom cabin plus bunk house in the central Adirondacks, Long Lake
10/10 Excellent
"Ideal Alternative to Camping with Amazing Decks & Great LocationIf you are reading reviews to decide whether to book this place, the answer is simple: do it! From the start, the host was incredibly helpful, and the check-in process was seamless and stress-free. The property itself is clean and tucked away, yet still close to everything. While the shower is a bit tight, the home truly has everything you need for a fun trip to the Adirondacks. The main living area features two couches, a cozy chair, and a kitchen table, offering plenty of comfortable seating. Upstairs, you will find a super comfortable queen bed with an en-suite bathroom and a nice deck that is perfect for morning tea or evening drinks with cheese and crackers. The main floor also opens up to a deck equipped with a grill and a table for outdoor gatherings, with a firepit located right off the deck. For sleeping arrangements, in addition to the upstairs queen bed, there is a twin bed and a futon on the first floor. We did not use the separate bunkhouse, but it looks like a fantastic option if you are traveling with kids. The location is excellent. Tupper Lake is only about 20 minutes away, and Saranac Lake and Lake Placid are just a short drive past that. If you want to feel connected to nature but are tired of roughing it in a tent, this is the perfect alternative to camping. We had a wonderful time and are already planning our next trip!"
Adorable Historic Adirondack Lakefront Cottage on Long Lake
10/10 Excellent
"Beautiful space. Warm. Cozy. Host was friendly. Gave us great tips for places to see nearby.Wonderful history stories. His grandfather's painting on the walls.Cabin restored but saved the authentic wood and furniture. Responded right away with our questions. Piles of dry wood for the fire. Perfect."
"Me and my 17 year old enjoyed our Memorial weekend getaway at the Bearidise cabin. We already anticipated a chilly and possibly rainy weekend so we knew we wouldn’t be taking advantage of the beach or water amenities. The cabin is definitely only a 2 or 3 person cabin. It has pretty much all of the accommodations that you need just bring your food, clothes and toiletries. We will plan on staying again the next time we go to the Adirondacks."
A clean and cozy centrally located pet friendly rental .walk to all amenities
6/10 Okay
"The apartment was very"rustic". I think the owner really cares and is doing the best they can. However, it was not what I anticipated or hoped for. There is a very strong cigarette smell as you enter the house and we smelled it again when we went to bed. From the front door, you go up a flight of stairs to a sliding wooden door. Down the hall to the left is the kitchen which seemed well stocked. But the kitchen was very dated. (Kind of like visiting Great Aunt Sarah's house). To the right you will find two bedrooms and a living room. There did not seem to be any central heating. There was a large furnace in the living room and an electric stove in the bedroom. One of the bedrooms had a single bed. Someone had clearly been sleeping in it. I contacted the owner and he told me no one had been there for three weeks. (We locked the doors and set up booby traps with our shoes in case someone tried to join us...). That room led into a bathroom which also connected with the main bedroom. That bed was very old. It was a double, but every time one moved the bed rolled. It was terribly uncomfortable. Needless to say, between the bed and our concern that someone would be joining us, we had very little sleep. I don't wish to be unkind, but I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this place."
"Our stay was amazing. We just needed a quick weekend away, spur of the moment, and Lenny (owner) went above and beyond to help us enjoy every second. Clean, spacious, and relaxing. Breakfast at Chef Darrell's Diner was top notch. Great hike, and tree frogs at night. So perfect. Thank you so much! "
