"After a long day of driving and sightseeing, driving the 18 miles off Hwy 118 (last 3 miles on a dirt road) was a bit unnerving. Once we arrived at the property, our expectations we far exceeded. We had a pleasant one night stay. "
"Michelle & Mark were great host, so welcoming & informative on the area. Barndominium was clean and had everything we needed. Bed was comfortable, plenty of kitchenware for cooking & living room had 2 very comfortable couches. Outside had a gas grill fot grilling, hot tub for soaking & plenty of seating to relax or enjoy a fire. Great for our trip to Big Bend National Park & State Park. We would recommend for your stay as well!"
"The trailer seemed much older than in the pictures, but it suited our needs for the week as we went back and forth to Big Bend NP. The hostess was very responsive and checked on us as one of the nights/mornings were very cold. We enjoyed walking around the property with the cactus starting their blooms. The Milky Way and dark sky area was the main reason to reserve this property. Our daughters have been wanting to capture it since they were little and it did not disappoint. Thank you for the great memories! "
"Our family of four stayed for three nights and it was the ultimate Big Bend experience. For the astrophotographers: this property is a dream. It sits under true Bortle 1 skies, and the 40-acre seclusion is unbeatable. We set up our gear right outside the screened porch, which provided good visibility of the sky for tracking deep-sky objects. It was incredibly convenient to run power from the porch to our gear, and the WiFi was impressively fast. The screened porch itself was a lifesaver, it provided excellent protection from the desert wind and critters while we monitored our captures. The house is cozy and well-equipped. We brought a blow-up mattress for one of the kids since there are two bedrooms, and it fit easily. Between the thick adobe walls and the carport, we stayed cool and protected. If you want private, dark skies with all the comforts of home, this is it."
