We loved our stay at the painted lady! The staff was great, very friendly. The hotel was always spotless! We loved the location and we loved the cuteness of the hotel! I would definitely recommend this hotel for a nice little get away
Parking was perfect! I parked right outside the hotel. There was great things around but I did not have time to enjoy. Just there for a quick night of sleep and had to get back on the road. Great stay! Will be back!
One of the best hotel stays I’ve had, and by far the best in Birmingham. Fair prices, great amenities, and the staff is some of the friendliest I have ever interacted with. Room was clean and absolutely adorable, I will be staying here every time I stay in Birmingham from now on.
The hotel was extremely clean and very beautiful inside and was perfectly within walking distance of everywhere we went for our night in Birmingham! Would definitely stay again and the service was top notch!
Hotel was conveniently located, rooms were spacious, very stylish and clean. Management were super friendly. Only complaint is that the person staying above me kept late hours and had loud footsteps! Next time I will ask for the top floor.
The room was pristine and the office manager was the best! She was very friendly and helpful. My husband enjoyed learning the history of The Painted Lady. It is definitely a gem and if we are ever in Birmingham again, we will definitely be staying there.
The parking was conveniently located and easy to walk a few steps to the lobby. The interior decorating and amenities were great! The room was very, very welcoming and comfortable.
Room was kinda cool, and it was clean. Felt like a house flipper recently touched it.
But there was no desk, table to eat at, or a dresser.
The heavy curtains were installed on an extendable rod with curtain clips that came undone when I tried to open them (and I was careful).
The view was roof level anyway.
All this along with shared kureg with no tea pods, shared brita ina shared fridge, with no reverse osmosis filter installation in the shared sink (on my floor at least) made it feel like a nice hostel, not a $170/night hotel.
The man at the front desk (and his dog, Sub!) were very kind and helpful and the hotel itself was beautiful, extremely clean, and quiet. We were only there for one night but wish we could’ve stayed longer! We will definitely be staying again the next time we’re back in Birmingham.
Super easy keyless entry. Free parking behind the building. Nice clean room.

The most comfortable and softest bed Ive ever slept in! Very clean. Amenities were lacking! And very odd that we never saw another person. No staff nor other guests.
The parking area was safe right behind the building. The cleanliness was unmatched and the very helpful staff was amazing. The sheets, towels and shower were very clean. We will be returning again!
I recently stayed at the Painted Lady Hotel and really loved it. The staff were super friendly, the location was perfect for getting around, and my room was cozy, modern, and super comfortable.
It is it used to be a brothel, so be prepared for the Staff to help you with your luggage up the staircase. Overall peace and quiet is what you will get at this hotel. There are several restaurants and cafés within walking distance from the Hotel. Highly recommended!
Amazing staff greeted us upon arrival, along with a friendly dog! Rooms are perfect for a stay for couples or individuals. Close to nightlife and restaurants…safe entry for lobby and rooms. Will be back!!
The king suite room was beautifully appointed, very clean and comfortable. The staff was nice and helpful. The location felt random when we first got to town, but after driving around the next day, I realized it’s super close to lots of restaurants and shopping. We had no issue with street parking.
The entryway felt very awkward. Maybe some background music would help the space feel more welcoming and less weird? The walls are also very thin. We had a very loud neighbor and couldn’t sleep. You also hear everything out in the hall. If it weren’t for the noise, I would have no hesitation in recommending this place.
It was peaceful and quiet. They upgraded me to a king size bed for free and the room was pink, my favorite color. Also, my original room was on the 3rd floor, the new one was on thw 2nd which was a plus due to them only having stairs.

What a lovely little boutique hotel, new to Birmingham! Was a wonderful stay, perfectly walkable to all the fun downtown restaurants and bars. The one thing that came by surprise was the fact that there was no elevator & our room was on the third floor. While not a huge deal, it would be worth noting in case others aren’t aware of that and are in need of that.
We had an amazing stay at The Painted lady. Jing was very communicative and helped with a number of recommendations. We were only staying as a brief getaway and found out Birmingham’s good scene is pretty awesome. I’d stay at this clean, artsy, quirky, cool hotel a million times more!
