Great location - but needs a refresh

We stayed for a long weekend in January 2025 - me, my wife & our 4-year-old son. Perfect location; easy walk to restaurants & other activities. Parking immediately in front of the property is a huge plus. However, the property was dated & could use a refresh to make it feel more welcoming. We arrived in town at 3 PM. We called to see if we could get access early (check-in was at 4 PM). We were told they were not done with cleaning, though no one was there onsite. This was offputting, but understand policies on checkin & checkout timing (though being honest would have sufficed, vs saying someone was still cleaning). At exactly 4 PM we received the code to get in.Other issues: -Shower - old, heavy & very difficult to open & close (had major concerns as it consistently fell of it's track - especially since a screw fell out during one of the uses). Very noticeable and dangerous; should have been caught in any cleaning/maintenance check -Dead mice in the closet - there were 2 traps; the rodent problem was clearly known -Carbon monoxide detector started beeping due to low batteries after we put our son to bed -Trash removal required us to put all waste & recycle in our vehicle & drive 1.5 miles to the dumpster location (unacceptable) -Missing vertical blinds (pieces were in the closet); this impacted privacy & sleeping comfort Overall the home had the essentials - 2 bedrooms, multiple restrooms, stocked kitchen, good WIFI, & TV entertainment options for all ages.

Easy, and short walk to the village. Plenty of things to do close by.

Nice for our purposes. The only drawback is that we did not realize that the unit did not have a washer/dryer, so we needed to request extra bath & wash towels.

Family vacation

My daughter and niece loved the bunk bed room. We all enjoyed the luxury of just walking into town for food, shopping, food, or treats. Overall this cabin was perfect for what we were looking for. My only complaint was the dishes being dirty when going to use them because it’s up to the guests to do all the dishes. . Kind of gross. I would suggest having to load all dishes in the dishwasher upon checkout, to ensure proper sanitation.

Nice way to bring in the new year!

My little family of 4+small dog enjoyed our stay. Perfect size for us in a great location. A little outdated but comfortable enough. Would consider staying here again.

Great location to walk to village

One adult and 3 teen girls. Enough space for all of us. Great location to Walk to village & bowling. House is on the older side. Could use some updates. Girls liked the games.

Cozy Getaway

Cabin is exactly as listed. It was perfect size for a small family. Only downfall was it wasn’t fully clean in the bathrooms when we arrived. The lighting was dim in the family room but cool cabins brought in another lamp right away when we made note of it. We had a great time, loved the location and all of the snow that came while we were there. Will definitely come back for another trip!

Excellent Cabin

Cabin was in perfect location, walk up the street to the Village, very central location & the bedrooms were spacious Would definitely stay here again!

Perfect Location

Perfect location, nice and cozy. The back yard is not fully fenced which made it inconvenient when wanting to let the dogs out. Besides that great place.

Great getaway

Our family has rented homes in Big Bear Lake for years, though we’ve typically been further up the mountain in the Moonridge area. The location of this home was perfect: walking distance to the restaurants and shops. Being able to walk everywhere saved us time (and aggravation) looking for a parking spot. Cabin was clean and the perfect size for our family of 4 and beagle. Kids loved building a snowman in the yard.

Nicer than its Pictures

The place was heated upon entering in the cold weather which was highly appreciated. The place looked nicer than in its pictured. My boys loved the bunk bed. The upkeep and decorations were new and beautiful. The cute fireplaces are decorations only unfortunately. I wish they would have been real fire too like in the living room. The water was amazingly hot thank god. Showers were lovely hot. Really close to shopping we walked at night got food n coffee, was perfect night walk. I would definitely recommend this place and rebook again.

Great Location

Cabin is walking distance to village and all the restaurants/bars. Cabin is clean and has everything needed for a great stay. Roads were closed getting up to Big Bear and Cool Cabins offered a credit if we didn’t want to wait for the roads to open. We waited and made it up about 11pm.
