Curated Private Designer Duplex on Berlin's Trendy Waterfront
Some places are just for sleeping. Others become part of your trip. Welcome to my private home on the quiet Alt-Stralau peninsula, a unique waterfront neighborhood on the River Spree and just 5 min. from the creative energy of Friedrichshain. This curated duplex is my private home in Berlin. I only share it when I’m traveling, so you’ll be staying in a real home rather than a property furnished solely for short-term rentals. My apartment spans two levels and features 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Large floor-to-ceiling windows over 5 meters high fill the space with natural light, while the open living area overlooks the water and creates a calm, almost Scandinavian atmosphere in the heart of one of Europe’s most exciting cities.
Design lovers will feel right at home here. The interiors have evolved over many years and feature a carefully curated collection of rare Scandinavian design classics, original artwork, books, and objects collected throughout my travels. Every piece has been chosen because I genuinely love living with it, and I enjoy sharing this experience with guests who appreciate beautiful spaces and treat them with the same care and respect. One of the things I love most about living here is the contrast. Wake up to birdsong, have your morning coffee by the water, go for a walk along the river—and just a few minutes later you’ll find yourself in the heart of Friedrichshain. The famous Simon-Dach neighborhood, Boxhagener Platz, countless cafés, excellent restaurants, wine bars, independent boutiques, and the RAW cultural district are all just a few minutes away. Whether you’re visiting Berlin for work, a family vacation, or simply looking for a memorable place to experience the city, my home offers something increasingly rare: authenticity, tranquility, and exceptional design in one of Berlin’s most beautiful waterfront locations. My maisonette is best suited for guests who appreciate architecture, design, and the privilege of staying in someone’s personal home. If that sounds like you, I’d be delighted to welcome you and hope you’ll enjoy this place as much as I do.
