This is a maisonette apartment with two floors. To the bathroom you will go up a spiral staircase, the bed is a bunkbed with stairs as well so we recommend this place to the young and fit.

Housed in the most central district of Berlin (Mitte), Guesthouse Moabit’s apartments are in a quiet street within a lively central neighbourhood that is well connected to the local sights. The nearest subway station, Turmstraße, can be reached in about 5 minutes on foot, the metro station Beusselstrasse is just 10 minutes by foot or a 3 minute bus trip away; and many buses to get around the city are accessible in under 3 minutes. A direct bus to the central train station allows a comfortable commute to BER airport by train.

Our apartments are bright, cosy, and seek to create a homelike atmosphere. They are all equipped with either a kitchen or a smaller kitchenette that includes hobs, a minifridge, and an electric kettle along with basic cooking implements. All rooms have en suite bathrooms. WiFi connectivity is available in all areas and street parking is possible in the surrounding blocks.

The beautiful river Spree is just around the corner and the nearby streets are dotted with numerous cafés, eateries, and bars. Berlin’s large Tiergarten park is a very short bus ride away and the well-known shopping avenue, Ku’damm, is 3 subway stops from Turmstraße.

(!) We offer this flat for a lower price than other flats in the building because it is on the fourth floor without an elevator. If you have mobility issues we do not recommend booking the apartment (otherwise it's great cardio training ;) ). If you prefer to live on a lower floor, please feel free to contact us and we will check the availability for you.

Some water damage, hosts very helpful
The apartment we were initially staying in had the bathroom a floor above the main living/sleeping area, and there was water damage on the ceiling above the bed. When showering, water leaked out of the shower floor and ran down the walls and pooled on the floor of the living area. When we complained of this to the hosts, they were very helpful and allowed us to move to a different apartment unit in the same building. We had no issues with the second unit. Overall, the water damage was not a very pleasant experience but the hosts helped us to resolve the situation quickly.

Unique and memorable!
This is basic accommodation for a very fair price (by European standards). Don't be alarmed upon first entry due to the unique layout - it will grow on you and is actually quite charming! It is great for a short stay if you will be out and about all day. As others have noted, the layout and stairs would be a problem for persons with mobility issues, but for us it was fun and different. The good old filter coffee maker was a pleasant surprise for us as Canadians. Bed is comfortable and everything worked as it should. The big, sunny windows and courtyard are a nice bonus, although I imagine it could get quite hot (temps were cool when we were there). It's nice to be in a neighborhood away from all of the tourists, and it's a pleasant walk to downtown through the beautiful Tiergarten. Also a nice walk to the Berlin Zoo (which is great). Check in and communication with hosts was efficient and pleasant, and it is nice that someone actually meets you there to show you around. Thank you, we would definitely stay again!

Perfect for my stay
Very affordable little apartment unit that ended up being perfect for my short stay in Berlin! I will say it's a lot of stairs (8 flights up, and the spiral staircase to the bathroom in the unit is a little steep), but otherwise it was wonderful. The loft bed was very comfortable, and the building is very quiet. The location worked well- I ended up walking to most of my destinations aside from a couple times when I caught public transportation a few blocks away. Very nice, overall!

Different, but awesome!
First, we are from the states. This was not a normal Vrbo for us. That said, the apartment was so fun. A lot of stairs and steps involved. We loved the loft bed. Very comfortable. Going up to the bathroom and back down was an adventure…steep and twisty. We will talk about our stay for years to come. We were close to bus stops, and a great coffee shop. We felt safe walking back to the apartment at night. Loved our 3 nights there. (Tip…the bathroom doesn’t have an outlet, bring a mirror if you need to plug in something to get ready)

The host is a great guy and speaks perfect English. I liked everything about it, my only issue being that it would be best for people in good health and (at least fairly) good shape (or travelling light). Be ready for stairs, more stairs, and a ladder. Beyond that, enjoy.

A bright and well-equipped apartment in a lively area
We had very enjoyable experience here ☺️ The guesthouse is located in a lively neighbourhood (but on a quiet street) with plenty of diverse eateries and cafes nearby for meals and snacks; and it’s very well served by public transport. The apartment itself was tidy and sunny and had everything we needed. The well-stocked multilingual bookshelf in the stairwell is an especially nice touch. Most importantly, Gregor is an excellent host: friendly, approachable, and very helpful. We would recommend his guesthouse wholeheartedly!

Wundervolle Unterkunft im Herzen von Berlin
Eine süße, saubere Wohnung, perfekt gelegen direkt neben der Spree und im Zentrum der Stadt. In der Küchenecke gab es Kaffee, Öl, Salz, Pfeffer, Töpfe etc. Alles vorhanden, was man für einen Aufenthalt braucht. Sehr empfehlenswert! Ich komme gerne wieder.

L’appartement est très bien pour y dormir, mais pas pour y rester. Il y a à côté un café qui propose de quoi se restaurer le matin pour démarrer la journée. Le quartier est calme et en même temps animé.

Entsprach leider gar nicht der Beschreibung
Leider war das Appartement unsauber, hatte Schäden am Treppengeländer und das Bad Fenster war komplett verschimmelt und defekt. Wir haben einen Tag niemanden erreicht und FEWO direkt war nicht bereit, uns zu helfen und verwies auf den Vermieter. Als wir diesen dann erreicht haben, haben wir glücklicherweise einen weiteren Tag später ein anderes Zimmer bekommen. Das war dann gut. Leider hat dies unseren Aufenthalt in Berlin getrübt.

Die Wohnung ist winzig, aber okay. Das Hochbett ist über eine Leiter, das Bad über eine Raumspar-Wendeltreppe erreichbar. Das Dachfenster im Bad war so verkeilt, dass es sich nicht schließen ließ, was aufgrund der Frühlingstemperaturen kein Problem war. Alles ist etwas schäbig und hat schon bessere Zeiten gesehen. Dass es exakt zwei Tassen, zwei Gabeln, zwei Messer etc. gibt, ist etwas sehr spartanisch, aber okay. Da andere Ferienwohnungen wesentlich teurer sind, ist das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis im Vergleich dazu akzeptabel. Die Lage ist ausgesprochen ruhig, der öffentliche Nahverkehr gut zu erreichen. Der Kontakt zum Vermieter war sehr nett und unkompliziert.

Günstiges kleines Appartement in Moabit
Besonders herausstreichen möchte ich meine beiden sehr freundlichen und immer ansprechbaren Gastgeber. Ich habe mich jederzeit sehr wohl gefühlt. Natürlich ist in der Wohnung die eine oder andere Ecke ein bisschen abgestoßen, aber das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt hier absolut.

Petit appartement idéal pour visiter Berlin
L'appartemment est petit mais bien conçu. On trouve tout ce qu'il faut dans le quartier (commerces, cafés, restaurants...) Gregor est très sympathique et très soucieux du bien-être de ses locataires. Pendant notre séjour, le chauffe-eau a eu un petit problème et Gregor a eu la gentillesse de nous dédommager généreusement pour cet inconvénient. Merci à lui. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir.

Good but unclear
The experience was overall good, the only thing that should be changed is the lack of accuracy of the advertisement: the apartment has a spiral staircase to go to the bathroom, the bed is on a mezzanine and the building has four floors without a lift, but this information is missing from the advert. However, the host was very kind and helpful and since I couldn't make any effort, he moved us to the first floor. Overall very good, but I would have liked to have had a clear idea of what to expect before purchasing.

Sehr süße Unterkunft
Perfekte Unterkunft für ein paar Tage Kurzurlaub in Berlin, sehr gut angebunden und tolle Kommunikation mit dem Gastgeber. Die Unterkunft hat ihren ganz eigenen Berliner Charme und bietet mit Bad, Hochbett für zwei Personen und kleiner Küchennische eine praktische Umgebung für einen kurzen Aufenthalt. Unser Highlight war das wunderschöne Altbau Treppenhaus, wo es Bücher und Spiele für schlechtes Wetter gibt. Sehr fairer Preis, bei dem man keine perfekt renovierte Wohnung erwarten sollte, sondern ein Appartement mit Charakter 😃 Die Umgebung ist auch für allein reisende Frauen geeignet, gutes Sicherheitsgefühl und sympathische Umgebung mit vielen kleinen Cafés und Restaurants, hier sollte jede*r fündig werden.
