"A really good hostel just outside the main city of Bergen but a short walk away to bus transport and also a small Bunnpris shop for food items, etc. Was perfect for my weekend in the area, especially with even being close to the Ulriken mountain tram/path to the summit - staff were helpful with check in/out, plus the shared female dorm room I stayed in was comfortable and with a good toilet/shower room and bunkbeds. "The breakfast was very disappointing. The strike by hotel and restaurant workers had an obvious impact on the breakfast experience;though we only found out on arrival, when at reception we were told that no hot food would be on offer.This was a major problem for my wife who has significant blood-sugar problems. The choice of low sugar foods was woeful with only two choices of fruit, both not classed as low sugar. The choice of cereals and pastries did not compensate for the lack low sugar staples such as egg, beans and bacon. There was no sign of any diabetic food nor any labelling of sugar content on what was available. The room was not serviced for the week we were there but fresh towel were provided on request. The staff were friendly and helpful. At no time were we offered any form of compensation for the inconvenience and significant reduction in the level of service we had expected from this status of hotel. ( I assume an expected reduction in the cost to Expedia will be passed on to us.) "

"The room was fun unlike any other hotel I stayed in. The breakfast was great with a lot of variety and extremely helpful staff. The views in the terrace were as beautiful as Bergen is. There is no kettle in the rooms however there is one in 4th floor and also 2 microwaves which was very helpful. Towels were of excellent quality however they clean rooms only on request. Honestly that didn’t bother us. The main drawback of the room was the window covers and the lights. Although the decor is fun but not very functional. The space of the room was large with a huge table and and kitchen cabinets and 2 closets but there was no shelves and 2 hangers. We ended putting every thing on the bottom of the closets. We went in May which in Bergen has long hours of day light, the sun would wake us really early as the beds were facing the windows and the funny set up has no room between the bed foot and the wall. I think few changes can help improve the use of space and furniture. That said the people are helpful and the location is 3 min from the bus and the tram. A lot of restaurants around. Also breakfast and the staff there were amazing."
