Come Stay on the River!

Bluebird Day has a new riverfront property! Come and enjoy River West, located downtown in the heart of Bend. The location will make it possible to park your car and walk everywhere. This historic mill house was built in 1918 for the excutive management team during the mill days. With still some it original characteristics, we do hope you enjoy the vintage charm of this older home. This home is located right on the river and steps from Miller's Landing Park. The footbridge that is close by will take you over the river into Columbia Park with a playground for kids. You can put your paddle board or kayak right in the water from here. If you decide not to bring your own, a paddle board and kayak is available.

This charming bungalow has three bedrooms, three bathrooms and a gourmet kitchen for those delightful home cooked meals. The private master suite is located upstairs with a king bed, gas fireplace, and its own bathroom. The other two bedrooms are on the main level with queen beds. One bedroom has it's own private bathroom. A cozy living room features a gas fireplace, HDTV, books for those evenings indoors. The private and relaxing backyard with river access, Salt system hot tub, gas grill, fire pit and numerous seating areas is surrounded by nature. This makes a perfect setting while staying right in town.

You are just 30 minutes away from Mt Bachelor Ski resort and the Central Oregon Cascades. Hiking trails, mountain bike trails, yummy food, floating the river, summer concerts, shopping, and Bend's vibe makes a great place for your vacation.

The house was wonderful and in an excellent location. Easy walking distance to restaurants, and many other activities. Also only 30 minutes from Mt Bachelor where we skied. It is an older home in old Bend but has all the amenities needed for our stay. Rooms and beds were comfy and cozy, kitchen is well equipped and of course the hot tub was wonderful after a day of skiing. Our group was four 60 plus year old skiers including one that was there to check out the many breweries in town. We all had a great time and communication with the host was excellent. I would highly recommend this place for any time of year because it’s right on the Deshutes River which would make kayaking and paddle boarding easy (kayaks and paddle boards are included) and it’s only a block away from a really cool whitewater park with rapids for all abilities.

Great Location with nice outdoor space

We enjoyed our stay here. Being our first visit to Bend, it was hard to tell if we should stay in town, or in a more natural setting on the outskirts. I thought this place had the best of both worlds. Our kids loved the paddle boards we were able to use right off the dock attached to the yard. Kitchen, laundry, bathrooms were all very nicely appointed. Would definitely stay again!

Great spot

River West is a spectacular location. We were able to SUP on the river, walk to dinners and the grocery store, have fires in the firepit in the evenings, enjoy the hot tub, and bike to the Cascade Lakes Ranger Station from there. It's only a 10 minute drive to Phil's Trailhead for some mountain biking, as well.

Great base in Bend for ski trip

My husband, two kids (ages 10 and 12), and I had a great five night stay here. We used it as a base for a ski trip to Mt Bachelor and it fit our needs perfectly. It was easy to get to the mountain, we appreciated having the hot tub, washing machine, and gas fireplace to come home to, and we love staying in Bend for the great food options for dinner. We would definitely book again and recommend this to others. I can only imagine how great this place is in the summer with the direct river access.

what a terrific stay in Bend

This was our third stay in this terrific home - always a great place to land and enjoy Bend. The location is amazing - being on the river is a joy and a lot of Bend is in walking distance. The property managers are very attentive, including clearing the walkways after a day and night of snow. Clean, well-stocked and well-managed. Thank you.

Very good, cozy!

This house accommodated my daughters and me as well as our style. It felt like home! It’s warm, cozy, and user friendly. The only thing I would suggest improving is to buy new sleeping pillows for all the rooms, and the shower in the room closest to the front of the house needs some improvement. But even with those things… we loved the property and would like to reserve it again!

Stunning riverside experience

The location of this property cannot be beat. Not only is it right on the river, but with the shady, gorgeous landscaping and colors of the fall, we felt like we were in our own private heaven. We highly recommend.

Old house, overgrown landscaping - not much river view or access

We booked this house because it was on the river, but the river view is 90% blocked by a very overgrown weeping willow tree that hangs down all the way to the water. As a result, you just get a tiny view of the water, and you have to move the tree out of your way to launch a paddle board or swim. The house itself is very old and needs some love and a deep clean. Walking trails were nice though and its very close to great restaurants and the mill district.

The house was cute and perfect for our family of 4. Loved being right on river. I did not love the mattresses and for that reason alone glad we only stayed 3 nights. I would rent again for a short stay!

Beautiful, calming, and serene

Our family loved staying at this house - the pictures do not do the river location justice. We enjoyed relaxing by and playing in the river, the hot tub, and BBQing on the deck. The house was a short walk from many things, but we barely wanted to leave we loved the experience of being there so much. Would definitely stay here again!

awesome location

The house has an awesome location - convenient to walk to many parts of town easily. Back yard is wonderful for a morning cup of coffee, or afternoon relaxation! House has lots of amenities, and super comfortable. We hope to be back soon!!
