Property was clean, comfortable and well equipped! We so enjoyed the property, the area and the hostess and host. They were delightful and were icing on the cake of a splendid stay. We will be back!
Wonderful Home - Irish Charm with All Conveniences
We had a wonderful experience in the cottage - a 250 year old historical structure with updated conveniences but still retaining the charm of an Irish cottage. June was a great host and we would highly recommend it for charm, convenience, and location.
We did very much enjoy our stay in this lovely historical cottage. The interieur was beautiful and decorated with care like a home. The location is perfect to dicover Cavan and Fermanagh. A region with a lot of history and a lake for every day of the year.
Your host June will help you with tips for places to discover.
We travel all over the world as a family and stay at many places. This visit has stood out and we appreciate the memories our family made here. The location is ideal for close access to many fun things to do. It also puts you in a central location to multiple coast lines.
The home is beautiful, well kept, and one of a kind. The hosts are amazing people and really helped make our visit one that our family will always cherish.

The property was delightfully decorated, very homely, had everything we needed and the host June was so friendly within minutes it seemed we had known each other forever. We will certainly be visiting again.
I couldn’t recommend this place more highly. June is a fantastic host and provided us with some wonderful recommendations during our stay. The cottage is also in an ideal location—perfect for anyone planning to explore Ireland by car. If you’re road-tripping and want to make the most of your time here, this is truly the perfect home base.
The photos of the property do not do it justice. It is a beautiful and pristine spot for easy access to Cavan / midlands, the north, Dublin, etc. the garden is lovely, and June is the perfect host, providing many “homey” touches. We spent an unforgettable two weeks here.
We were greeted with such warmth and charm we knew our stay would be delightful and it was. The house was so charming and well kept. It would work so well for families or friends traveling together. We could not be more pleased with our stay.
Cosy cottage with garden spotlessly clean warm comfortable and everything you need provided for.June is a wonderful caring host and will sort anything out for you.would love to stay again .Highly recommended.Joe/Kim and kids.
We LOVED this welcoming little home! We had all the amenities and space for our family. The home was well equipt with anything you may need. June is an awesome host! We loved sitting outside and having tea in the morning & walking down the road to see the old manor the gatehouse went to. Perfect area with privacy and peace while we visited family in Cavan. Highly recommend and we will be back!!!!
Difficult in words to express how much we loved being here. June Mee was the highlight of our entire trip. You will never meet a more delightful person on this earth. She will do back flips for you if necessary to make your stay memorable. We missed her so very much after we left and wish we could have brought her home with us. The cottage was lovely also but she made this a top notch location. We love you Miss June!
Exploring County Monaghan are surrounding area of central Ireland
Our host, June, met us upon arrival and made sure that we were comfortable and settled. She was able to see us off at our departure as well. The kitchen was as advertised and worked well for us as we just stayed two days. If it was a larger group planning bigger meals the kitchen might have been a bit cramped. There was a nice outside space with comfy chairs and picnic table where we took our evening meals. The bedrooms were comfortable and well-appointed. The bathroom upstairs was spacious with a shower equipped with hot water and great water pressure! Enjoyed our stay as we explored the area of my ancestors.
We have just returned from a relaxing 4 night stay at Cloverhill Gatehouse. From start to finish the booking experience and communication with the hosts, June and Doug, was seamless. The house was very cosy, clean and had everything we needed for a relaxing comfortable stay. June made us feel very welcome and checked in in us to ensure we had everything we needed to make our stay as relaxing as possible, she certainly is a 'Superhost'. The location of the property was ideal again for us, within 10mins drive from Cavan town. Lots of nearby attractions for days out, including Cavan Museum, Marble Arch Caves, Crom castle and a Michelin Guide restaurant , Olde Post Inn, opposite the house for delicious food. We will definetly stay again when revisiting family in Cavan.
