"Great view and lots of space. Very good parking. Large bedroom with a very small bed! Please put in a queen sized bed and at least change the mattress.Large bathroom with a very small shower. You have lots of room, please expand the shower.Guidance of distance to various attractions: train station 9 minutes, only if you are an Olympic athlete. 15 minutes down, 25 minutes up. We timed it twice "

"I normally do not write reviews; but, wanted to for this hotel. It is a small quaint hotel. It actually has a small pool and hot tub with incredible views. It is actually located in Vezio right outside of Varenna. At first, I was concerned about the location from Varenna. However, Rita the proprietor made sure we had transportation from the train station as well as to and from all of our points of interest. We seriously wanted for nothing. Rita and the staff made sure all our needs were taken care of. She even cooked us lasagna dinner herself when the local restaurant was closed. I have stayed in many hotels but never received this level of hospitality. We actually would say and continue to say where is “Rita” because this would not happen. She took care of every need and would not let us be without a ride, food, umbrella, etc. If you are planning to visit this area you will not regret staying at the Hotel Diffuso il Portichetto. Rita and her staff will treat you like family! I can’t wait to go back!! "

"Beautiful and convenient location right on the water! Communication with the host was good. We arrived by train and had to find our way in the rain, and at night. I would recommend arriving in the light of day. The dark and rainy night made the navigation with gps a little difficult.The photos in the directions were helpful, however in the dark it was a bit unclear how far to walk after getting the keys. I kept wondering if there was a way to enter without going through the parking area. Great apartment though! Wish we could have stayed longer."
