Great hotel, great staff. Felt very much like being back at Grandma's house. Very clean and smelled great. Would definitely recommend and be back for another stay.

It is a lovely location with a great history, we like the Inn very much. We were disappointed that the restaurant wasn't open while we were there.

The view of the river was breath taking. My husband and I got away for the weekend and are so happy we found this hotel. It was quiet and comfortable. The restaurant in the hotel has great food and wonderful staff! The only downside, depending on the person, the WiFi is not great. We spent the weekend with no phones and were just fine but some people may not feel the same.

Bad!

Staff was super friendly, but the place is not good at all. Filthy carpeting throughout. Dirty linens on the roll out bed. Cigarette burn mark's on everything ! The view of the river is gorgeous however the rest of the town is really run down. Pretty sure we saw a drug deal go down when we went into town to eat. Really sketchy area.

Check in was fine, but as soon as I got to the room, I noticed there were no towels at all. Had to request them. When front desk brought them to room, I asked for the wifi password. Was told she couldn't remember it, but would call as soon as she got back to the front desk (barely a 2 minute walk). Never called. Had to finally call the front desk to ask for it. Another person brought up a little piece of paper the size of a fortune in a Chinese fortune cookie with the info on it. She said I could keep it. It was pretty complex. Not sure if she thought I was planning to write it down and give it back to her. Very disappointed with the service.

Summer 2017 Glenn Ferris Inn

Our vacation began at Glenn Ferris Inn in late July 2018. The staff was friendly and worked quickly to accomadate or family of 8. Rooms were all newly renovated and beds were new and very plush. The dining room and grounds were well mainted and absolutely beautiful. Our son was even invited to play the grand piano in the dinning room while we enjoyed our dinner on the first night of our stay. The history of Glenn Ferris is very interesting several presidents such as Hayes, Jackson, Tyler & McKinley along with Henry Clay have all stayed at the Inn. The presence of the founders and past visitors of the Glenn Ferris Inn is still strong. We will always return to Glenn Ferris when we are staying in the area!

Little bit of history in WV

The Glen Ferris Inn caught our eye on an earlier trip, and we made a point to come back when we could. The Inn sits on the bank of the Kanawha River, peaceful and friendly. The town is small, but within easy driving distance of several attractions. I can't say enough nice things about the staff (especially Laura at the front desk, and the owner, whom we had a chance to meet). The rooms are comfortable, and the Continental breakfast was delicious.

Great stay

Really nice owner and staff. Neat location off the beaten path. Great views. The bed wasn’t in great shape but other than that, it was a great place to stay.

Nice Family Weekend

Restaurant workers struggled a bit with service but were very nice as with everyone else who worked there. Lovely area, room is definitely not modern but was comfortable and all of my extended family members of differing ages enjoyed their time and would come again.

Fine stay along the river

The room was fine, everything worked, slept fine, room was quiet, wi-fi good. Staff was very helpful. Beautiful view of the river. Did not get to eat there.

very nice, quaint- loved the decor

The receptionist stayed on the phone with me till we got there from downtown GF. She even came out to the door to greet us. made us feel very welcome. I believe we were the only ones in the inn and they even made us breakfast in the morning. Thank You

Beautiful Old Quaint and LOUD

This is a wonderful old (nearly 200 years) hotel. It is right on the Kanawa River. It is way off the beaten path and is in a rustic setting. Room was very pretty and very clean. Bed was very "springy" and quite firm and a bit uncomfortable. The bathroom was adequate and supplies were adequate. The problem was traffic. The hotel sits within 15 feet of a street that was heavily traveled ALL night by trucks that used their engine brake to manage speed. I don't know if this was an isolated time when there was more than normal traffic but it certainly detracted from making this a pleasant stay.

Cozy and Friendly staff

A different experience.....Rooms small, but quaint ....River view rooms are the best....a back in time feel.... beautiful fireplaces, upstairs sunroom, baby grand piano in the dining area and very pretty....also an additional eat in sunroom previously built with a view of the river.....we were treated as if we were a special guest.... Everyone was very friendly and helpful....made our stay very inviting. I will definitely stay there again....the rooms aren't fancy but the views are great and the staff is great as well.
