"Beautiful. Close to the historical center. Well restored with historical charm. Very friendly front desk woman lady named Yale. lovely breakfast. They asked what our nutritional restrictions were. Very thoughtful."

"Lots of difficulty here. The room was nice, though no exterior windows. You have to check in before midnight, and the host locks you in from 9:00 PM to 6:30 AM each night (yes, really) due to what she described as dangerous streets. On our 10:30 check in, after almost 12 hours of travel, she fought vociferously with us because we asked to remain on the sidewalk for five minutes to smoke a cigarrete. Her helpers, two young Quechua girls, were fantastic and friendly, though we felt sorry that they had to work for the older lady. We left unceremoniuly the next day, staying only one night of the six we paid in advance for, with the host claiming ignorance on refund policy. It was all a costly mistake."

"I wish our stay could have been longer! The suite is very big and comfortable. While retaining architectural features of the 200-year old building, it has all modern comforts. The kitchen is fully stocked for guests to make their own breakfast. Staff speak excellent English. Really really nice! "

"Our host, Hernan, was simply amazing. True Ecuadorian hospitality! Location was perfect, a quick walk from the main Plaza and Basilica. Food was delicious and room really comfortable. Highly recommended!!"

"We really enjoyed our stay. We had the Amazon (luxury) room and it was great. Loved the bed ! Firm and really comfortable! Soaker tub and complimentary wine was also nice. Freddy in the restaurant and all staff were great. We walked to centre of old town from the hotel within 10-15. We felt safe in and around old town Quito. Previously we were in Brazil, so this was a nice change. While elevation isn’t super high (2800m approx) we did get altitude sickness for about 18 hours. We dint expect it so we didn’t take medicine in advance, but when we did, it helped. Breakfast was nice. Pretty simple but nice ham & eggs, etc. "
