I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Barcelona Universal! The room was clean and well maintained, the breakfast was delicious, and the location was excellent. Most attractions were within walking distance, and having a Metro stop right next to the hotel made getting around the city incredibly convenient. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

Fantastic hotel, we had a triple room for a family of 2 adults and 2 children aged 4 and 6. The room had lots of space and bathroom was huge with 2 sinks, toilet, stand alone shower and also a bathtub with shower.

Our room at the Universal was very well maintained, clean and with a nice cool temperature for a late heatwave in Barcelona. Their friendly staff allowed us an early check-in, which made our life easier on arrival. We did not have breakfast at the hotel restaurant or tried the pool, but they gave us all the info we needed in case we wanted to make use of these amenities. It was a short and sweet stay in a very convenient location.

The breakfast on the 1st floor was very good, not a continental breakfast at all. The bell cap was very helpful. The only criticism is the shower tub bottom is very slippery inside. I would suggest a placing the floor mat inside for better traction.

The penthouse floors gives you a nice view of the city where you can swim chill and relax!!! Located near the Venetian towers and the maritime on the other side of the hotel. Near access to the subway. To go around town.

Nice clean hotel, staff were very good. The surrounding area isn't great, lots of drunks and druggies on the streets, but that's not the hotels fault. Try to get a room on the rear, ours was on the front and it was really noisy all night, maybe better soundproof windows.

I picked this hotel because it is close to the Metro stops, which are literally right by the hotel. We upgraded our room, but it was still small, which I guess is typical for Europe. The pool is tiny but the view from the pool deck is amazing, and the food at the pool is delicious. Breakfast is in a very nice place with lots of choices. Overall, a good choice for touring the city by Metro.

The rooftop bar and pool were great and not overly busy when we visited on a weekend in August. The staff were all excellent and spoke good English. Really good spot in the city although I would advise using local taxis rather than walking, The rooms our party had were all great, particularly the one with a huge balcony. The hotel also gave us a free upgrade on one of the rooms. Would highly recommend and go back if visiting Barcelona again

Great bedroom, plenty of space and mimi bar. Pool, whilst small, is great to cool off in after a day of site seeing. The pool is open 8am-8pm. Good variety of food at breakfast. Overall a good hotel in a great location, metro station outside. The rooftop pool is its stand out bonus.

The hotel is close to some of the best neighborhoods especially if you don’t mind being in an urban area. Rooms were nice. The only disappointment was the gym but everything else was excellent.
