Staff was extremely helpful also provided free water refills. Well located in the Gothic Quarter. Nearby was a place called 365 where we went every day for pastries and cappuccino for breakfast and a sandwich for lunch

We stayed here for 4 nights and the staff is extremely helpful , rooms are well kept and maintained as well as spacious . The amenities we’re fantastic. After long days of walking ,the spa and sauna came in handy , overall a wonderful hotel and experience.

Excellent hotel in a great location in the old town. Room was large enough with a good ensuite. Great roof terrace with plunge pool, loungers, and a lovely bar-restaurant - all with a view towards the cathedral. But by far, the best thing about the hotel was the staff - they were exceptional from front of house to rooftop manager. On our final day, our flight home was cancelled, meaning we had to book a new flight for several hours later. It wasn't a problem for the hotel - they allowed us to stay at the hotel for a few hours longer utilising the facilities. If I come back to Barcelona, I will definitely stay at Catalonia Magdalenes, First class. Huw

What a gem! The staff was amazing especially our porter and front desk manager last night 5/24 he was SO helpful! Breakfast the pool the cava upon arrival amazing! Beds and rooms were laid out perfectly for multiple travelers (3) We would come again!!

The friendly staff was very helpful with suggesting restaurants and arranging taxis for us. Shout out to Adam and Alfonso. Clean, spacious, well-equipped rooms! Loved the bathrobes and slippers. Excellent shower with rain shower and wand options, both with good water pressure.

An unforgettable stay — the staff made all the difference I've been traveling for decades, and I can honestly say this was one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. What set the Catalonia Magdalenas apart wasn't just that it checked every box — it was the staff. They were incredibly attentive, warm, and genuinely went above and beyond at every turn. That level of care is what transformed a great hotel into something truly special, well beyond what five stars usually means. Everything else was excellent too: the service was superb, the hotel was spotless, the rooms were comfortable and nicely appointed, and the location couldn't have been better. But it's the people who work here that I'll remember most. If you're deciding where to stay, don't hesitate — you'll be in wonderful hands.

The place was wonderful. Breakfast was quite a spread with Spanish dishes as well as onlettes made to order. Room spotless, clean, fresh. Staff was so helpful, shout-out to Simo who helped us with EVERYTHING! he even did a but if translating with us to Taxis. We were leaving as Tour de France was starting and everyone was helpful in getting us to Cruise Terminal on time. Any visit to Barcelona includes a stay here! 5*****

Excellent location very near the Palau de la Musica and the Barcelona cathedral that was all dressed up for the Pope’s June 2026 visit. The room felt modern and surprisingly spacious for its relatively small footprint. The rain showerhead was luxurious, the room was spotless, and it was very quiet despite being in the center of a great neighborhood. Adam, the bellhop, was extremely helpful with directions and tips! Trigo Cafe is a 2-min walk and has fantastic breakfasts if you don’t want to do the hotel’s buffet. We would definitely stay at another Catalonia property again!
